Just had a "private number" ring my mobile and ask for me.

They said they were from Mint and wanted security details. Could be anyone!!

In any case I said I'm at work. She said can't you talk, so I said Nope. Given me an 0870 number to ring back on up till 9pm tonight.

Have done a search and can't find any record of this number being Mint anything. Tried google and saynoto0870.

Oh well, guess they got my letters saying I can't make payment and I'm contacting CCCS.

Does anyone think it's a bit ironic that on their website they said if you have financial difficulties to ring this number... 0870.... (High premium rate number from a mobile - not too helpful is it??)

Car being MOT'd now - waiting for a phone call for the verdict of that one too. :(

Well the car failed. The list of rust areas is as long as your arm. Will cost about £400 plus re-test fee plus tax next week.

Lots of it is areas that were welded last year so will have a very similar list next year even if we do all this work. It's had a good life 150,000 miles and 18 years. Guess it's time for it to go as for that much money (not that we have it) we could get a newer car with lots less rust.

Might have to put off starting the DMP for a month then we'll be able to use that money to get a car. But that feels wrong as I wanted to start getting everything sorted and pay people off.

Hi Everyone,:D Hope you are all well!

Glad to hear it's mostly quiet for everyone. Lovely isn't it!!!:p

newleywed - Sorry to hear about the car, I know just how you feel, mine is an old rusty heap too! If you need to replace it, putting off your DMP for a month shouldn't be too difficult and you will soon have it up and running without the added worry of wondering if your car will break down!!

Nothing happening in my world at the moment, recieved a statement from Co-Op bank, showing no charges or interest and same from Capital One so looks like everything is going smoothly at the moment!!

Let's hope it stays that way;)

  • just seen one of the threads on the br site about how much the paper cost has been to go br.had to comment that the amount they would save from their debts being written off would offset the bill.
i dont mind anyone going br cos whatever method you settle on to face your debts is the important thing but sometimes the jokes are not funny.
i know it sounds like jealousy cos they will be debtfree quicker than me and i have chosen to be paying for years, but it isnt.
its a painful and stressfull process whichever you choose but i still wish they wouldnt make so light of it sometimes.imho anyway.

Thing is, it's never broken down on me!!! Dad's a mechanic so all those things he can fix - it's rust that's a killer as he can't weld.

Spose at least the extra mile walking to get to the bus stop will get some weight off!!!

I hate it too. That's why we.re here trying to sort it out and learn never to get in it again!!! ;)

OH says I should start my DMP and not put it off another month. Dunno where that leaves us though as the only other money is the stuff due to the tax man (when OH does his tax returns). All the running costs for the car are sorted in my DMP but not the money for the actual car!!

Must be a day for Mint as they rang me earlier and I told them I was at work so couldn't talk. Guess I'll have to ring them back later, when I can find whether the number given to me is registered to Mint :)
