I am putting all my extra money (ebay, amazon, any money leftover from my weekly shopping, spare change, etc...) into a savings account until I get enough to try to get a F&F from any of my creditors. Then whatever amount I was paying them will be shared between the others. By doing that I should be able to be DF earlier (hopefully  ).

    Hi everyone !!

Havent been on much lately as I've just got so much going on at the moment (not debt stuff or bad just busy) Hope all are well and everthing is going ok.

Joek - I would put the money away and when you have got a chunk pay it to CCCS to distribute or maybe increase your monthly payment a little when your review comes up. But don't struggle to increase by more than you can afford.;)
I worked out if I upped my payment I could knock a year off my DFD, but then realised that although this month I have done well and not actually used all of my allowed amount this may not always be the case and if anything came up I would really struggle.

So I'm going to wait for my review and have another think then!:D

Going to tackle the de-cluttering of my DDs bedroom now just need to steel myself and maybe have another coffee before I start what is, believe me a mamoth task:eek:

Putting the excess amounts into a savings account sounds like a grand idea!

I have my old Halifax savings account at hand, so that'll be what I'll do I think.

I don't know if this would be able to help anybody, but what DH and I have been doing the last couple of months is using our flexible mortgage. I get paid on the 15th each month, so I transfer over the whole of my salary to the savings pot on the mortgage. The plan is now (as we didn't manage it last month) is to work out how much of my salary we need to transfer over to add to DH's salary at the end of the month to cover the dd's. Then transfer over an amount each week to cover food, other spends etc. Hopefully this way we won't spend more (because it's not there) and if we're conciously budgeting, there may be some left over at the end of the month. It has the added bonus of attracting 6.1% interest (my mortgage rate) while it is there! (Last month I only managed to transfer £850 for 10 days and it earned £1.39!!!)

  • Hi everyone hope you all are a having good day and the postie was very good to you :j . Postie has been very busy with us this week with redoing priority dd's for new account.
Why is it that creditors never seem to read the letters you write to them.We wrote to NATIONWIDE.Asking for them them to freeze interest on our debt,in reply to our letter, they sent us a letter saying we asked for a new DD mandate which we had'nt  .So we sent another letter today telling them that we are with PAYPLAN etc here's hoping they will read this new letter.A hour after posting the letter NATIONWIDE rang to speak to hubby, but was at work so was unable to speak to them!

Know the feeling. Wrote to Mint to ask for PPI to be taken off the loan as I can't afford it and got a letter back asking for me to reinstate my DD I've cancelled.

Ho hum. Must send off the ones that say I'm starting a DMP with CCCS and see what response those get!! ;)
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?
  • Know the feeling newlywed getting so much post lately, not use to having post just adverts usually but not now.
Not sure i can help with ppi on your mint loan,we were told by payplan to cancel any ppi on credit cards. But not on our loans as they can re-issue a new loan with a much higher rate. Not absolutely sure of this as i'm a newbie to DMP,but hopefully someone will correct me if i'm wrong, lol.
