Hi
Sea78. Took your advice and hoovered my keyboard then like an idiot remembered it was a wireless one. Put in new batteries and here I am.
rustybucket Good news about First Direct. Newlywed I also have a CC and o/d with First direct. Sent off my token payment with covering letter. Payment was cashed and I recieved 2 letters from them today one saying how sorry we are to hear about your problems however they cannot stop interest and the 2nd letter was a default on my loan. Talk about quick. I reckon that must be record time for a default. Think i might frame it as it is my first one. If only i could get my second star as quick.
Michelle73 Good luck with your DMP starting 1st May. Same day I start mine.
Amani Regarding Halifax I would do as teecee suggests.
Valleysgirl Hope you get well soon.
And to everybody else hello and hope all is well. Will catch up on posts later as yet again I am working nights.

hi all,
im up very early (for me anyway).
very strange about peoples body clocks.i seem to be a late night person and cant stand getting up early(or is that cos i used to dread the postie in the morning?)
dont know about you all but i cant believe what a relief it is to be sorted on my dmp.i know i have loads of debt but before the dmp with cccs and not telling oh, i was so stressed and at one point was very near to ending it all.
now i feel like a huge weight has gone.
can you imagine what i will be like when im debtfree???!!!!
hope you all have a really good day.
good luck and best wishes.xxPeople bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with

Morning all!
Wasn't around yesterday (although I did do a bit of lurking...), but nothing much to speak about really. Had a lovely day with the family - incredibly tasty turkey with all the trimmings
I have a quick question for those of you with CCCS.
If you have a bit extra that you'd like to dish out to the creditors, how have you done this in the past? Do you send a giro payment to CCCS and they'll allocate it out?
Going by the debt calculator, if I simply added another £1 per month (as an example), it takes a whole month off the end date!
Hope everyone has a lovely day today!

Joek,
Save it and throw the savings at CCCS at the end of the year. A month does not make much of a difference does it?
Besides if you manage to save it then if an issue does crop up where you need a little bit of extra cash you can use it.
Thats what I am doing anyhow, transfering a certain amount into my savings account and in April 08 I will give payplan a lump sum0 -
hi joek,
i asked cccs this a while ago and they said it was better not to send one off payment but to update your soa with them and make the increase a permanent thing.
might be better to put it in a savings account that you cant get to easily and keep adding to,then wait to see if any of the creditors offer a f+f and pay it off with the savings.
you can ring cccs for advice but id be tempted to do the savings account.
my op,anyway, for what it worth. regards.xPeople bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with

Hi everyone.
Got a letter yesterday saying "your bank have informed us you have cancelled your direct debit for your loan, please ring to arrange new direct debit details". Guess they didn't process my letter yet saying I can't afford it and will you take off PPI.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Putting the excess amounts into a savings account sounds like a grand idea!
I have my old Halifax savings account at hand, so that'll be what I'll do I think.
It'd be nice to look at it at the end of the year to see what's there.
Don't know what Barclays are playing at though - after giving me various threatening letters saying that my account is going to be closed, they've seemingly forgotten all about that and have decided to keep on sending me statements, and (of course...) adding interest.
It'd be nice to get rid of them completely!Chuffed to be member 11 on the DMP mutual support thread.
