More of a moral dilema really...
If I find myself with a spare £1000 (:D), then I'll go. Otherwise, maybe a quick trip to the Lake district!

But you're not skipping paying off your debts, you will pay them eventually, maybe just not as quickly. The Lake District is lovely tho!

According to my DMP I'm allowed £5 a month for entertainment - not gonna happen. There's no way I can go for the next 6 or 7 years and not go out - even having friends round would cost more than that. So when I earn any extra, it'll go towards going out and paying some more off my debts. Otherwise I might as well go bankrupt - and pay off no-one...

    Happy Easter all!

4 phonecalls already - damn 0800 no's don't they know its a bank holiday obviously not for HSBC staff in India!! I think my charges letter has upset them again!!!
Joek if you get the chance I'd be inclined to do the NY trip. If you're not going into debt for it then why not - my dream is a trip to NY but with dh, 4 kids, 2 dogs, 3 legged cat and a rabbit - its just not going to happen anytime soon - oh well looks like another wet fortnight in Devon/Cornwall in our tourer. But heh what the hell its still a holiday!
Sea - I take St Johns Wort (not sure if they help though), hope you don't mind me saying this but your oh deserves a kick up the a**se!! Hope you're doing okay today - the man does not know how lucky he is. Big hugs to you and yours.
Hi Ilovegreatdanes lovely weather here too - just chilling in the garden!
Hope everyone is having a good day and looking forward to a relaxing Easter weekend.
    Love and hugs

Aaaargh. Just when things were going really well bank holidays happen:mad:
Was all set to go into town to pay in money to cover life insurance, house insurance, Gas and the mortgage plus a couple others when I get told but it's a bank holiday!!!!!!! Now if I lived somewhere that had a bank (we did have 2 till they closed them both down) I might have realised. Or if when I log on to my internet banking it screamed out at me don't forget the bank holiday I might have transferred the cash earlier. As it was I was waiting on a £600 cheque clearing which is why I was having to go into town to pay it in direct rather than transferring. Tried phoning Nationwide to see if I could get them to take money by Switch but no they don't deal with transactions over the phone. She said the best I could do was cancel the DD's that are due out and hope the bank holiday doesn't cause a problem with cancelling them. As it is most of them are not due out until Tuesday but she said the DD's come out just a couple of minutes after midnight and of course the bank doesn't open until 9.00. So I have cancelled the above mentioned four and left the two that were due out today as there is enough money in there to cover them and have a list of telephone numbers ready to do some explaining first thing Tuesday. Just my luck if due to the bank holiday they didn't try and take payments until later in the week. :wall:

I don't know what you guys think but I don't think bank holidays have the same significance up here in Scotland. There certainly doesn't seem to be the mad bank holiday rush to the coast as there is down south. Or maybe it just seems that way as I'm already on the coast.

Oh well to cheer ourselves up we took the kids and the dog for a run on the beach at St Andrews. There was quite a breeze going so we all came back with red cheeks. DS caught the sun a bit, his freckles are starting to show.

Joek you have to take a holiday somewhere as you need a break away from things. If you think you will be able to afford it this year I say go for NY. If not then there are loads of places in the UK that make fantastic holidays. We will be going camping on the west coast of Scotland again this year. Love the west coast. I love camping too but sometimes a night in a decent hotel wouldn't go amiss.

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

Meant to say Kelly 9 calls is harrassment. Call the ombudsman about them.

There was a time when I went to Scotland every year in the summer to go to the Fringe festival...haven't been for a while though, so it might be nice to pop along there!

Considering I could probably get to Edinburgh in an hour I have never been to the Fringe. I keep meaning to go but it seems to come around so fast that its here before I've arranged anything. The same with the military tattoo. Wanted to go for years and still never been. DS is of an age now he might enjoy it so must try and find out if there are still tickets for this year.

    Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well, it has been beautiful sunshine here again to day so making the most of it!!

Scottishmummy - What a nightmare I bet you are livid:mad: , hope everything turns out ok and not too much hassle from the cancelled DD'S.

Joek - This is tricky one, I also love New York, went almost 6 years ago but remember it soooo well!
I think........ and this is only my opinion, save any bonuses/extra cash you get then if you have enough later in the year..................Go For It!!!!!

We all spend so much time thinking about money that sometimes we forget that their is a world out there!!!
You are a self-confessed workaholic who is dealing with his debts and making provisions to pay your creditors what you owe them!!
YOU need to have a life too!!!
The debts will be paid regardless of whether you take the trip or not you have a DMP to ensure that. If you feel bad sell your body:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: to relieve the guilt and/or try extra hard to put more money into your Dmp at a later date when you feel back in your happy place and able to approach them with new vigour. This is just my opinion like I have said, if you go you need to bring me back some hershey's chocolate with almonds.:D
