If I need to lift the carpets and refit I will also be out of pocket which again is not something I want.
I made sure I over did it with the photos. 30 in total. Close ups and long shots.
I didn't have a receipt for the paint but I did take photos of the left over Tins I have. This was extremely lucky that I still had some.
I then included my decorators invoice for the work last year.
In my investigation pack I made sure I explained my anger and disappointment which would have been clear to see from my photos. As most of my walls are white it gave a fantastic view of how bad my yellow doors and frames are.
You are right about it being a nightmare though. I am in the same boat in that I have new carpets in two of the rooms. £200 isn't going to pay to get a decorator out to do them again. Looks like I'll be spending some of that on carpet protectors and hoping I can do an ok job.0 -

How long did it take you to hear back? I am still waiting after sending off evidence etc 4weeks ago! I sent off similar 30-40 photos, all receipts, plus a letter of complaint explaining what I expected them as a company to do to resolve the problem. I am told there is a massive backlog but I am not sure if they are being entirely truthful. They are so rubbish with ringing back and letting you know what is going on and its all very poor, especially as I was told they would deal with the complaint witin 3 days:rotfl:. I have written a letter threatning legal action if they don't comply with paying to have all my gloss work in the flat repainted so am wondering if they are having to consider actually paying up so I don't take them to the small claims court.
Will never use dulux again! Even if they have sorted their paint out, they need to work on customer service!!0 -

I had the compensation offer back within a week of sending my stuff off. It was then about ten days before I received my cheque and vouchers.
Hopefully they are taking their time and getting quotes for you!0 -

It was all done by letters. Haven't had any phone calls from them.
Calling them is an absolute nightmare. Forever on hold!0 -
i used dulux white gloss on all my doors and skirtings inmy hallway at the start of 2011,i did not notice the gloss going yellow until yesterday when the painter came to repaint them all yesterday, you think i had been smoking 60 cigs a day,i asked the the painter why i had not seen this before and he told me it was because the paint i had on the walls was a sort of lemon colour and it made it blend in more.i still have the original can of gloss that i used on the doors.would it be worthwhile taking a picture of the doors and sending them off to dulux as he has only painted the skirtings so far?
cheers

Dulux should have withdrawn this product from the sale over 2 years ago, our house is now a yellow mess. We spent 25K on a new home extension, decorated the rest of our house to match, used Dulux brilliant white gloss on all doors and woodwork, fitted new carpets everywhere after decorating. Now today I have a offer from Dulux of a £100 and some free paint! They used a cheap fix to keep the EU hippies happy and released a untested product to the consumer they should be made to pay. I will never use Dulux or ICI products again!0

I too have an ongoing claim with Dulux for yellowing paint, and a few days ago I received a letter from them explaining what the problem was (an EU directive stating the amount of VOC's must be lowered).
The letter also stated that:
"We have now reformulated our Trim products (Gloss, Satinwood and Eggshell) which now have improved resistance against discoluration and will stay whiter for longer. These products have a blue lid which indicates our newest formula."
In other words, they are admitting that they screwed up and probably took too much of the VOC content out (or put in too much oil to help the drying process), otherwise why bother reformulating their products after such a short time?0 -
Good Afternoon,
I am currently in discussions with dulux regarding this issue & have just received this reply back when I rejected their offer of £150, I rejected this on the grounds that it will cost a lot more than this to rectify all of the yellowed areas, please can one of you brighter sparks out there advise me on how to proceed as I have the paint tins but no receipt but when I sent off the forms for this they said that would not be a problem
I personally think that they are trying to now wriggle out of paying fully as so many people have had the issue, any advice would be greatfully received as all I want is to get my property to how it should look not to make a profit but certainly not to be out of pocket due to a product issue.
Thanks
Lyz

The product you have used is not faulty it is compliant with industry standard and the legislation set by the EU. If it was faulty we would have taken them out of production. I have been flexible in accepting photos of the can you have purchased as proof of purchase. However there are still limitations as this has affected the whole industry.

I would need further proof of purchase such as receipts to look at increasing my offer to you. If you could also provide me with batch numbers and barcodes, then this will help me with looking into this further for you.

My manager is fully aware of your situation. I have full authorisation to act on this for you depending on the evidence supplied.
