amateur_saver I it appears from other posts on this thread the original email was genuine, the OP is just waiting now for ebay to get back to them so they can sort the suspension out.

If you open or use another account while suspended from ebay you will automatically be barred for good.

They might not catch you straight away, but they will catch you.

My understanding is that Ebay no longer use Email as a means of communication but use the more secure My Messages, which you know came from Ebay.

Is that not correct? I suppose it may be different if they've suspended the account so My messages can't be accessed

Mac123, Yesterday, I also received an email regarding a violation commited months ago!! It has only happened since i have received a bid on event tickets...Am wondering if people are doing a little digging around in order to sabbotage us alleged 'tout scum'??
It has really annoyed me as no warning, just banned indefinately and I had listed theses tickets at cost price starting figure - it was the only time someone had bid.
We may have violated but they also benefit form the fees we pay.
Let me know how you get on. I am going to appeal. It seems they may be upsetting many sellers if they are doing this sweep on everyone - gives a good oppurtunity for competition company to cash in!!

hard up and fed up, I didn't think you could get an indefinite suspension on your first violation, have you had other warnings of any sort before?

As for sabotage, of course, that's how it works. Look at Wirm's excellent campaign against people selling links, those people could also complain they are being sabotaged by us reporting them over and over again.

Ebay is policed by the users, ebay wouldn't have closed down your account if they hadn't had complaints against your auctions, probably from a competitor.

As I've said before I bid on a lot of gig tickets and would think at least one third to a half of the auctions i bid on get pulled before they close and a significant number of those sellers get NARUd as well.

I'm not sure though where else to suggest you sell, there is no real alternative to ebay and in any case the selling of tickets unless you are trading as a ticket outlet, is against the terms and conditions printed on those tickets so I'm not sure you would find somewhere else that would let you list anyway.

Ebay don't make the rules against ticket touting, the promoters do.

I have sold fruit machines on eBay in the past which I know are 'prohibited items', they challenged 2 out of 9 items in clampdowns and have issued me 2 email warnings. OP - that’s all that you should have received, not a suspension, it states your account may be suspended only if you continue to break the rules.
