Tales From Tumbledown Cottage aka Number 11

:mad::mad::mad::(
Bloody weather here in Midlands, the wind is horrendous, it has blown over my brand new washing line whirlybird thing, could just scream out loud, it cost me an arm and a leg. Oh sod it, why do we bother?
And to add insult to injury the roof shed felt covering is flapping about, what a life:(
On a more positive note Tumbledown is warm snug and safe, Dom cat and myself are curled up in front of the fire having just scoffed our dinner and are at least indoors. Dom cat refuses to to even poke his pretty nose through the cat flap so he looks settled for the rest of the day.
Frugalina you have guessed just where I am:rotfl: so you know this area well, one of the big companies who own lots of factory units, local huge new hotel at the end of my road and some of the nice business starter units just round the corner has just gone into administration, that's hopefully just re organising the business or it's 95 folk out of a job and as that particular company let out the flats above the shops round here that's bad news to DSS claimants as they were the main landlords for them round here.
Also they did a lovley Xmas tree in the centre of local streets and always had beautiful hanging baskets in the local little main street round here..funny how things can change in the blink of an eye, thankfully I'm not affected by all of this but a lot of the locals are.
Not so long ago I hadn't much but a suitcase of clothes and my dignity, now I'm happier than I have been in years, me and putty cat are sure counting our blessings on this cold wet day.
Hope all is well for all you folks, keep well
T x:DNow fingers crossed there's a big black and white cat with massive whiskers out there looking for a forever home with a batty dumpy lady :A yep there is, found him Domino big fat huge whiskered purring machine that's taken over my house life and heart, life's good, as I pander to the whims of my new lodger..:rotfl::rotfl::D:D:p0 -
Hope the weather has settled down and your whirly washing line is re-erected. I was just saying to a friend of mine yesterday that I wish I had one of those for my washing and it would be useful too if I could connect it to a generator - the amount of wind we get here, I could supply the whole street with leccy, lol!
Is that the owner of the lovely new large hotel gone into administration? A real shame that an organisation that is philanthropic cannot survive, so sad. Hopefully a solution will be found and those jobs will remain safe.
I am not really meant to be online as I have been banned from too much computer work as I have a lot of pain and am meant to be wearing braces 24/7 (I have naughtily slipped them off, ahhh bliss). I am missing my knitting too
I am quite excited that after this busy weekend ahead, I can begin to look for my Tumbledown Cottage equivalent and my canine Dom equivalent at last.
Crossing my achey fingers that you can tackle those weeds now it is dryer.31.5/1000 -

FrugalLina brill news that you can now look for your version of Tumbledown, I hope you find it soon, you will know it when you see it, it wil kinda speak to you from within.
Washing whirlything is pushed back upright, but it slants to the left
so need to haul the spike thing out the ground and bash it back in again, but I think its had it for heavy washing going on it.
Thankfully the roof shed survived, few roof tiles fell of local houses.
Dom cat is purring by the fire, think hes in for the night now, unless he wants to go out like last night and yowled from the top of the shed, nearly gave me a heart attack I thought he had injured himself so went outside with my torch and scruffy jimjams on, he just jumped down, looked at me Tammy felt a twit :rotfl::rotfl:then went in the house, and sat in front of the fire purring, daft cat or is that daft cat owner.:D
Am off to bed sleep well all

I am so excited! I have found my own Teeny-Tiny Tumbledown Flat! Put the deposit down today and am now frantically running around getting everything organised.
Going to have to do some serious Ebaying to get some dosh to pay for everything and I am going to have to get rid of some furniture.
The flat is great, in an eighteenth century building, but nicely modernised inside. Lots of light, good storage and just a 2min walk from work. I will save a fortune on rent, gas and electricity, council tax and transport.
There are no neighbours either side and no-one above and a lovely view out of the window. It needs curtains and a lick of paint, but other than that, It will be ready for me to move in on the 2nd June.
Above all, the landlady is lovely and is even amenable to me having a small pet of my own, I am so happy!31.5/1000 -

Apologies for long absence, fell down the stairs at Tumbledown and broke collar bone and right wrist..am much better now and can now post again.
Local council have offered me a one bedroom bungalow out of the blue, only problem have just signed a new 6month AST tenancy with lovley Landlord and don't want to leave him in the lurch but this bungalow is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
He is going to advertise for a new tenant after Bank Hols so hopefully will be on the move again soon.
This bungalow is in a row of five I'd be the end one down in the corner with a lovley piece of council land attached just hope Landlords quick in finding a new tenant for Tumbledown....it has a walk in shower room/ toilet and all on one level, just what I need as my health has deteriorated the last couple weeks but I'm on the mend.
Dom cat is well enjoying the sun chasing flies like an idiot and scoffing his food, I think he's a tiger cub in disguise as he is huge hieght wise has the longest legs I be ever seen on a cat lol.
Ok hope your all well..
FrugalLina have you moved yet?
Best wishes

Gosh that bungalow sounds fantastic - I am glad you are OK now after that fall, sounds awful

I am in my new flat and loving it! Still in a bit of chaos as I can't put away my empty boxes etc into the loft until the insulation is finished next week and I have some wall painting to do at the weekend (the last tenant was a bit free with the reds and browns and I am a magnolia girl).
Handing the keys back on the old place tonight and then that is it. Will miss my really lovely neighbours but will visit often.
I hope the lovely landlord does find a new tenant, but even if he doesn't I think you should do your utmost to keep the bungalow, it sounds perfect and you are less likely to fall down stairs there!31.5/1000 -
Glad to hear that you are on the mend.
The bungalow sounds just right for you and I hope it all works out for you.
