there doesn't seem to be a lot of panic buying going on around me - I put some in this morning because I was on the red, maybe half a dozen cars at the forecourt. I passed 2 other garages this afternoon, no cars outside the forecourt queueing, so it looked like business as usual to me.0

Happy Easter David Cameron dont spend all the extra millions you have made on fuel tax all at once0
-
It's all fuel I would have put in anyway, so I can't see what the problem is if I do it today rather next week.0

Noticed 3 garages sold out in Lincoln today, big ques at others
Saw on another forum some people cancelling holidays for next week as they cant get any fuel to travel to there destination and worried they may not be able to get back0 -
Massive queues at Tesco Shoreham, i'd have thought a good 45 minutes. Glad I went at 9pm last night!0

The brilliant thing is everyone in those queues is probably telling themselves they aren't panic buying and "it's fuel I'd use anyway" while looking at everyone else and thinking what a bunch of panic buying sheep they are.
The last time this happened wasn't a strike remember, it was lorry drivers blockading refineries over the fuel duty, people supported that. I can't see people supporting 2000 tanker drivers on 45k a year wanting more more.
The other reason petrol ran short then was becasue instead of putting in the usual £20/30 each car was filling up so taking double the amount they would normally. As I said before, I tend to fill up as my commute is just over 50 miles a day and the car will do about 400 miles on a tank but anyone filling up now when we don't even have a strike and they'll have used it all by the time there is one is just deluding themselves.
Sorry.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
I passed 3 stations today all with long queues out onto the road. I'm no panic buyer but I'm coming up to needing fuel soon with only half a quarter left in the tank. I really can't be bothered queuing for ages and looking like a pratt.
Just shows that they can continue to raise fuel prices and people will still continue to pay it.0 -

It does coincide nicely with the tax rise on fuel.......
We had a similar situation a few years ago, but nobody went out panic buying..... But this time, the TV/Media/Newspapers have made a huge deal out of it and look what's happened.
By the time we pull out of this, we'll have forgotten all about the tax rise.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

On 1/2 tank now, going to the gym later, and tomorrow and possible overtime in work Saturday (only day I need to drive) can see myself doing 50mph on the Motorway now, to avoid the queue.0
