Two queries
First: A box needed to be handed over the Post Office counter but I'm not sure how to register this
Second: Packet to be posted between 10 and 1.00. I posted at 12.50 but as last post collection was 12.00 system won't let me register time.
Any suggestions please.0 -
Where there is a slot in my local ones, they are changed daily although we do have 1 or 2 where the post box does no have the slot.
Thanks I wish mine did. I always post before the last collection time but sometimes the box sounds as if it has already been emptied. It wouldn't make any difference to the way I post but at least I'd know if postie came early.0 -

For the box you treat it as though posted in the box outside, so use the no. for that box.
I have never had a problem entering the time I posted even if it was late. Does it not even allow you to re-enter the time you posted when you retry?0 -

Thanks for quick response. I tried several times to re-enter but it still wouldn't accept time. Will try again.0 -

I can't be sure that I remember the sequence properly but think it asks
1 for the box where posted
2 provides last posting times and asks you to confirm whether the time is correct
3 asks whether you posted before the last posting time
If you answer that you didn't do that perhaps it doesn't like the answer and throws its toy out of the pram and doesn't let you put the time in.
By the way, though the schedules may give a time window in which to post, the most important thing is to post before the last collection. If the scheduled time ends after that (or begins after that) you still post before the last collection time. (The problem often crops up for a Saturday posting where most last collections are noon but the online schedule may say "after 1 pm but before last collection"!)0 -

Seems to depend on the person who empties the box. Some of my boxes never seem to have the labels displayed, some are missing from time to time or clearly have the wrong day, and others are always changed appropriately. That has been the case for years.0 -

Finally managed to get the time accepted. I posted as per instructions even to the extent of hanging around for 10 mins to get postings in the 'right' timeframe.0 -

I must have misunderstood your original query,Packet to be posted between 10 and 1.00. I posted at 12.50 but as last post collection was 12.00 system won't let me register time
Not sure why you troubled to wait 10 mins when you were already in the suggested timeframe.0 -

Yeah, that didn't make sense to me either.
And perhaps, if you're standing around by post boxes for 10 mins to get the times exactly right, you're maybe taking it all a bit too seriously.
After all, many of mine are "post after 10am". Well, that's simply not convenient for me. I'm working then. So I post at about 7am on my way to work and put 7am on the website. The TNS have never objected.Because it's fun to have money!
