Hope you can help.
And last but not least - I started sending test items in the week beginning 11th March and only got one lot of stamps so far (in my welcome pack and then nothing). Is this correct or have I missed out?
I've been on the panel since January and I received one lot of stamps with my welcome pack and then 6 weeks later with my first active posting pack I received another set of stamps along with a presentation pack of London Underground stamps.0 -

Go to the News and Features section, scroll down and you will find information about the Unaddressed Mail survey. About 9/10 down the page you will find it describes what unaddressed mail is and says, "This category of mail includes takeaway menus, catalogues, local newspapers, insurance leaflets, and promotional literature."
If you are out when it arrives, how do you know which items come via the postman and which by other leaflet distributors? You can't know, so they are all included.
Yes you should read what it says on the website. You conveniently missed out the first line of the relevant bit - "Royal Mail offers the delivery of unaddressed mail items to private households". It is items delivered by Royal Mail which you are supposed to record not items delivered by anyone other than the postman. The postman doesn't deliver say for example charity bags but he can deliver takeaway menus, catalogues, local newspapers, insurance leaflets on occasions, although often they are delivered by someone else. If you aren't in then you must make your own judgement as to what was delivered by the postman.0 -
I asked for clarification on this subject and was advised that if you are at home and able to identify that leaflets were delivered by distributors rather than the postie, do not include.
If you don't know who delivered them you can include them in the count. Can't see that this data can be very accurate but they are still paying us:)
You highlighted local newspapers/magazines and takeaway menus - we actually do receive these by the postie as well as by distributors!
WELL DONE redagila!! At last someone on here who fully understands the system.0 -

Did you get that in writing from a named individual? I think this is just another example of the mess they are in with this survey. If they say one thing (in News and Features rather than in Training) and then give private advice saying something different then the results are worthless - except for the recording of delivery of known identifiable items. They really should stick with just the proper identification rather than wasting our time in reporting variable data.0 -
Hope you can help.
I just have my first small box to post and the R number label says postage should be 1st 300p but on the box there are stamps worth £5.65. Is that ok?
postal prices for parcels have recently gone up and I also believe that the size of otems have changed...the box would have previously been classed as a small parcel but under the new prices is now a medium box....
The sheets and labels are probably printed in advance so show the old price...I had some extra stamps sent to me the other day to include on a box I need to post later this week
It seems a shocking amount of money though to post a box...glad im not paying it!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Yes I had an email from a named individual. To be fair although it doesn't help with the accuracy of the data, I feel it makes sense that, if you know leaflets, etc came via distributors and not RM, it is obvious they should not be included in your count.
My OH does another survey where he sends all unaddressed items (the actual items) that we receive each month. Would love to know exactly what data they collect from this. It is only when you keep all the "junk" for a month, you realise how much we get put through the letterbox.0 -

This happened to me too.
Isn't the price of postage ridiculous for that virtually empty box ?!0 -

I too asked for clarification while I was doing this(finally disappeared from my screen) and was also told if I could identify that leaflets had not been delivered by postie then not to include but if there was any doubt to include them:)"Sealed Pot challenge" member No. 138
