Never found anything that comes near the 5% cashback that continues to be paid.

We have heard that uw reps now get trained not to use the word "sainsburys" when selling the risky card to their mates. This is because some gullibles raise the objection that they don't actually shop at Sainsbury, so don't want the card. To get round this the reps are being trained to say gullibles will get savings on their "supermarket shopping".

Now you seem to be trying to tell us that if we use the risky cashback card we will get 5% cashback which will compare with others that offer 1 or 2% cashback.

On the face of it your 5% seems a no brainer. That's what I would think were you my friend/relative selling me this card. But you aren't pointing out two vital points:

    1) You actually only get 5% on purchases at uw nominated retailers. This includes only the one supermarket. When you use the mastercard anywhere but at a UW partner store you get nil cashback, as opposed to the ones you dismiss which give you cashback (in your hand) for every transaction

    2) The so called cashback actually gets used by UW as part payment for their expensive energy, and isn't "cashback" at all!

You can hear the reps being trained on how to sell the card to their friends in this deceptive way here:

the customers seem happy with what they have got.

That's because they are gullibles. (eg The Spanish teachers)

Bearing in mind each rep has an average of only 9 customers, and these are drawn from the reps so called "warm" list of their friends and family, then they will be happy. After all, their good friend/relative wouldn't have mislead them, would he? And didn't he keep saying something about a "guarantee" the prices are the cheapest!

Pity these 9 people don't all come here and realise they have been cynically taken advantage of by their "friend"!

Sadly as uasual you have to resort to not telling the whole story. You are known to exaggerate.

There are 30 household name high street shops people can use the UW cashback card in that's why they are told not to mention just sainsburys. Anyway a large number of people in the country live near a Sainsbury. In fact there are a more places to use the cashback coming soon as well. You are just desperate to try to find something wrong with that. You also choose to ignore the other discounts UWDC customers get.

Now then I have answered your questions. Where is this other cashback card you testify to. Instead of diverting away from that why not finally give a link. I have seen 2 credit cards that give 2% cashback for the first few months then nothing. As having worked in financial advice I do not believe in the majority of cases people actually benefit from using credit cards. As the UK has amounted 1.5trillion pounds of personal debt.

It has proven risky to take your advice before Quentin yet you still believe you have all the answers. You seem to think no one will benefit from UW. The fact you see something wrong with the video link you gave shows just how distorted your view has become over the years. Look it's not me with the issue. I am not worried where people go for their services. It's not me on here every day for years.

There are a number of discounts including...£100 energy discount for a new customer (I don't mention than until after they have decided to become a customer as it is a one off).

More misleading spam from a UW rep.

They don't give £100 discount for becoming an energy customer at all.

To get this one off £100 (credited to your account after you have taken all services for more than 12 months) you have sign up to (and keep for more than 12 months) at least 4 different products - their expensive gas, their expensive electricity plus either broadband/mobile or homephone, plus become a member of their "club", (which itself costs over £21 a year - for what??).

And now we learn that if you take on their home phone, moving away to another provider isn't straightforward, as they take over your BT number but use LLU so that if you want to leave in the future, and have a standard BT type line it means possibly paying for a new installation!

    Vinnyph, give us some credit!

We can all hear the training session.

They are taught to ask their friends how much they spend on petrol and "supermarket" shopping each month, then go on to tell them they can get 5% back of that spend, but not to use the word "Sainsbury", so that the friend gets the impression the card pays cashback on how much you spend altogether, not just if you happen to spend at Sainsburys!

Anyway, I am off to bed so you can come up with more bluff if you want. But in a parting gesture of good will let me say this. Your time on this thread is wasted. You wasting your time and the remaining years of your life Cardew and Quentin. One day you will regret your wasted time. You have just become a puppet for the many advertising companies. UWDC are still growing very fast anyway because what they offer is a very good package. They keep winning independent awards.

If you have a strange dislike for UWDC Quentin you would probably want to see it that way. If someone was using another supermarket they could always use sainsburys instead to get the 5% cashback. The majority of people live near to a sainsburys. What about the other 29 household names as well. Even if they didn't want to use sainsburys they could still get a significant cashback with the other companies. I notice that both B&Q and Homebase are listed but are direct competitors so other supermarkets may be added in the future. Tesco have a clubcard but if Tesco were to be included on the UW cashback card the customer would benefit from both.

I am really going to bed now. Got to get up in the morning. Got people who want to see me.

Now about your cashback Quentin, what does it offer. I won't wait up for a reply.

I just had a "Utility Warehouse Discount Club" letter through my letterbox from a neighbour a few streets over.

This will be one of their Neighbours Letters which they encourage Distributors to send to their neighbours to tout for business.

Of course Cardew, Quentin et al. will readily accept this Which? survey because it is to the detriment of UW. Suddenly, Which? is now totally trustworthy. Funny that.

As said many times, I am a fan of Which.

Nobody disputes that a reader's poll voted UW best value gas and electricity, despite Which pointing out that they are 20% more expensive. The readers poll is not surprising given there are 33,000 UW salesmen and their families all with a vested financial interest in UW.

My only criticism of Which in this context is that the figure of UW being only 20% more expensive is wrong and 30% is more realistic. That 30% figure can be easily confirmed by using the Which comparison website.

By the way as you no longer pretend that you are not involved with UW, does that new found frankness stretch to conceding you are a UW salesman? or are you just a happy customer?;)

You try to suggest that it's only a UW setup that hinder you to move directly to another LLU service, when in fact it applies to the whole industry.

I didn't suggest anything of the sort.

I pointed out that uw gullibles are not advised when they sign up for UW line rental that their line will be switched to LLU, and consequently moving away will be a hassle.

Contrast this with what we have seen the reps saying (that swapping to UW is pain free, with no contract, and you can move away anytime if you aren't happy)
