  • I've been happy with them for years, it's only since checking out the fuel prices this month that I realise I need to make changes. If the truth be told I dread the idea of having to change my email address after all this time! So many people to inform! Plus the broadband service has been pretty reliable, for our needs anyway. So, decision made, I'm drifting off subject and into broadband territory. Sorry, maybe I should move on. There's an entire other section of this website I should be looking at ;)

I know what you mean, you get comfortable, but you should definitly switch suppliers if you can find a cheaper deal. I switched in Oct for gas/elec and I must admit I do miss my monthly bill, I haven't had a bill yet from my new supplier and I'm dreading receiving it, especially after the recent cold spell, that is one good thing about UW! Good luck whatever you decide!!

Operastar, why should anyone but you comment on my speednet test, your'e the one who wanted it...I am posting in my original and only username. Please don't accuse me of duplicity again...

The query is that the speedtest is dated 03 Sept 2009.

What I find strange is that a self confessed "long term" but occasional reader has only just signed up to the site and made their only posts on the site on this thread accusing other people of duplicity.

Then even go to the lengths of going back through the thread to see who was posting on Christmas eve.

There is only one poster here who I know of that goes through peoples posting history to that extent and they, strangely, have been absent on this thread for a while!

Once again this thread has been diverted away from UW's extremely high prices and onto the subject of trolls and grocery shopping.

The issue is UW's extremely high gas and electricity prices.

Why pay hundreds of pounds more to UW for your gas and electricity.

To recover that sum the average user would have to spend many thousands of pounds in shops that accept the UW card.

Nobody disputes that the UW card is very good if it suits your shopping habits, but if that is the only card you can use, then just get one of UW's other services rather than spend £hundreds extra for your gas and electricity.

Or get the Mastercard cashback card which can give even greater discounts.

You've said that before Cardew, there is somebody on here who disputes this! Read the last page if you need a clue! ;)
Have you got anymore info on the mastercard card? Is it a credit card?

Jannine have you had a look at the babee card that was posted about somewhere on the thread, its another prepaid card, but I think you have to buy vouchers at a discount to take advantage of it, I only ask as I'm expecting a grandchild in the Spring and thought it looked useful.

But so was essexmums, and she did hers today too. I don't know why it's showing that date, I'll try again and repost, even though I object to having to prove myself a customer for certain posters

Nope, Essexmums had todays date on it, and the time would coincide with when it was posted.

Yes they sell you the vouchers less the discount. Or you can use it online.
No need to just shop at Sainsburys, Asda and Waitrose are also in the scheme.
No need to make a qualifying spend of £50 to get your supermarket fuel.
