I agree with Janine - it does come down to the right usage of the card. Sadly, it doesn't fit with the way I shop. I'm sure it's worthwhile for some. I have considered keeping two services with UW (Broadband and Home Phone) and having a bash at using the card. I don't know, I was hoping to hear about the savings made by genuine cutomers, but there seems to be more propaganda and it's hard to judge what is a reliable source of information!0

Oh and please don't do your usual selective cut and paste if your going to quote me!
FYI, whenever quotes are taken from a post, all you have to do is click on the little blue arrow (next to the original poster's name) to see the full post.
This means that selected pearls can be quoted rather than quoting full posts all the time, and saves space and time!0 -

Hi EssexMum,
I am just a customer, I have no vested interest in the company. I make full use of the card and as such I have received negative bills for the past few months and surplus cashback paid into my account! My parents both use a card linked to my account so I really do take full advantage! I do my full weekly shop at Sainsbury's, as does my Mum and there are 4 cars all being filled up at Sainsburys petrol stations being paid for with the UW card. This can amount to a spend off over 2000 per month on the card.
You really need to work out how much you spend in the listed shops to see how much you could save. Most are in agreement on here that UW's telephony and internet packages are competitive so if your spend is reasonable in the shops give it a go!
The risks are minimal, I have used the card for well over a year and had no problems at all. It really is money for nothing!:D:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Change the record! Break even on what? I use the card which pays for my landline and calls, and UW also give me cash back into my bank every month, I have had NO problems, the risks are minimal, all cards carry some kind of risk!
I was replying to your rude suggestion that someone must live on the moon if they had no boots or sainsbury's nearby to patronise in order to get their cashback from the risky card.
What risks are there when using a mastercard credit card?
(The UW card, however, is risky because your money isn't ringfenced should UW go bust, and you have no recourse to the card issuer for assistance should a dispute arise over a purchase.)0 -

I know that thank you, some posters don't! Nice way to avoid all my points, your very good at diverting attention away from questions that you can't/won't answer!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

My suggestions was a joke, which I think was very obvious seeing as nobody can actually live on the moon! Get a sense of humour! The only rude person on here most days is you, 'guillable' is not a nice way to describe people! Nor is 'ex dancing boy'
I thought we were discussing cash back cards, not credit cards?
UW going bust is highly unlikely, hence why I said the risk is minimal!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Yes, that's what I was thinking - get shot of the two fuel services, keep the broadcall and maybe switch to Sainsbury's for the family shop. I might give it a go for a few months and see if it works out cheaper than switching my broadband and phone. Thanks Janine for giving the customer's perspective. Phew, but this forum is hard work! *Tiptoes out again*0

Janine, It's due to the fact that none of the participating stores are local that maximising the benefit of the card would be hard work.
The nearest suermarket to me is Asda, the nearest Sainsburis is miles away.
Operastar, why should anyone but you comment on my speednet test, your'e the one who wanted it...I am posting in my original and only username. Please don't accuse me of duplicity again...0 -

No problem, happy to help! Only you can work out what you spend shopping and if it is worthwhile to keep the UW card! And your right, this forum is hard work, but I am a happy UW customer and I think the cashback card is excellent if you make full use of it!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

There has been a cashback card mentioned on here recently which I think you can use in Asda, maybe look back and try and find the info? Seems such a waste to spend so much money in a supermarket and not get anything back for it!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
