  • sorry i made a mistake its all this typing how many times did i do that any way best value blah blah blah would you not agree i noticed you only pick up on things that suit you if you check back on my posts i said lots of times what we do and if you only try to pick holes the more services you use the better it is for the customer no yet repled to my posts about who the big six are now would you not agree that uw is best value for money not cheapest who wants cheap.price is not everything when we checked prices we found that uw and ebico deals were not as cheap as the cheapest offers from the big 6. but low prices are clearly not everything. in a which survey, smaller companies scored particularly well at customer service and, despite their prices value for money. of the big 6 only sse got good scores in these ares npower always seem to be the cheapest but come bottom os most surveys on customer satisfaction uw score 83% quote from which magazine page 40 april 2009

Hello Essex mum, this is what other posters were on about, you can go onto the above site www.speedtest.net , run a speed test then copy the result and post it as an image. As you can see it identifies your internet service provider, I'm on Sky.
    .
If you get your internet from UW I would imagine it will either be Opal Telecom or Talk Talk.

BTW Its ironic that UW with its high customer satisfaction score are a reseller for NPower who are always at the bottom, perhaps now the option for Npower to buy a 29% stake in Telecom Plus has lapsed they may change partners.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Operastar...can't post links as I'm a new user, so can't show you the speednet result, but try this:
    speedtest.net/result/426031528.png
...and I DO work for npower...I am not a liar, why would you say mine and essexmums posts are shrouded in uncertainty? My first post was true and honest, and designed specifically not to get drawn into your's or anyone elses paranoid fantasies.
I've no axe to grind, just wanted to say that bottom line for me is a saving of 190.00. ithought this was a valid non-narky point

Indeed it was, I changed over to the Milton Keynes server as it gave better results.
Sky CS has indeed left a lot to be desired in the past , however I had occasion to call them the other day due to a network outage and got sorted out by a UK call centre in a few minutes.
FYI, Speedtest results are not very reliable, if you want to discover the state of your broadband connection its best to obtain your router statistics, as these will provide the actual speed that you are synchronising with the DSLAM in your exchange.

    P.S. happy to oblige:

  • Thank you Penrhyn, for the info, as you said it is Opal Telecom - I come under the London server. It's good to have that knowledge, don't know what use it is though! However, having done the test I'm not allowed to post the result, as it's identified as a link and I'm a new user. Anyway I got 2.5 stars out of 5 and the download speed is 6.36 is that any good? Upload speed is 0.86 ping 89

    Operastar,
Couldn't post full link, but gave a working link none the less, and no I'm not suggesting I've done the test, I'm STATING I've done the test. I don't know any of the regulars on here ( this is only my 6th post).so can't ask any of them to put my link on. Use my partial link in my previous post and it shows the speednet result.
Why is ist you don't believe I can save money, and that I have any axe to grind?
