Yes Which magazine are out of date - in their last report they said that UW are only 20% more expensive for gas and electricity, but for most people they are 30% more expensive.
Have you heard of comparison websites? Enter your details in any of these and you will find out just how many £hundreds extra UW charge.

I'm with you malo, but haven't read all of it, just the first and last two pages was enough! Been a customer for over 3 years now, and to be fair, at first I was getting a good deal. Every Jan I re-evaluate and thus far I've resisted switching, but this year things have changed and it's time to go, plus I've never used my cashback card or whatever it's called. I just want a clear, low price for my fuel!! Please!! Thank goodness for uSwitch (apparently I'll be saving £432.21 in 2010).0

Yeah Essexmum, just moved in with my gf,and she has UW, but on fuel alone we can save 190.00 a year, and more through going through Quidco. I think the cash back card looks like damned hard work, and the single bill thing isn't woth the extra cost...who you switching to?...with me it's npower0

The best deal for me is with First:Utility, but they're very new and not highly rated for service. Still it costs nothing to quit them, unlike the next option EDF Energy/Sainsburys (£50 termination fee? A bit harsh) So, still weighing up the alternatives. Still deciding where to put the other two services, home phone and broadband. Need to do a bit more research!0

Yes, their energy comparison service shows me that UW would be around 28% more expensive than my current tariff.
Thats why I find it strange you (and all the other UW spammers) bring them up.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -
hi everyone sorry for the late reply back but as far as im aware suppliers have to pay to be put on these sites. and uw dont so why are we on these sites do you think the sites get paid more by other suppliers if so or if not why we on there if we dont pay them plus i know for a fac we dont pay to be on them so who knows if there tarrifs for uw are correct. and sure you are all aware to get the best deal you should go direct with our unique triple value guarantee these are facts 1 for your gas , we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than bg.
2 for your electricity, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than your regional electricty supplier.
3 and for your complete peace of mind, we guarantee our prices will always remain competittive with the cheapest tarriffs availible from the big six suppliers . uw dis0 -

We have seen that uw reps are trained to diss the comparison sites. Why would this be?
Maybe as a way of overcoming any gullibles pointing out how expensive uw is on the sites!
The "unique" guarantee is a worthless sales aid, designed to give the impression to gullibles they are getting a good deal.
It does not make the guarantees posted above at all. When you say it ensures uw will always be "competitive with the cheapest tariffs available from the big six" this is just a downright lie! Unfortunately your friends and family won't expect you to lie to them and will no doubt sign up with you after hearing this impressive (though completely false) claim.
The small print ensures the guarantee to be worthless!
As already posted, even your colleague uw reps have agreed here that their energy prices are high!0 -

Just wondered why you think the cashback card is 'damned hard work?' I have my phone line with UW and the card and I haven't paid for my line rental in months, UW pay me every month! Obviously its only useful if you shop in the listed shops! Just unsure why its hard work, takes 2 mins to top up every month, then just use instead of your debit/credit card! I have had the card since UW first launched them and I have had no problems, UW have no paid me over 500.00 for shopping in my normal supermarket, not a bad amount of money for doing nothing!!
Also have to say good luck with Npower!!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

You have obviously just 'done the course' from the rubbish you regurgitate.
UW are on all the comparison websites - including WHICH we you seem to have heard about.
If the UW tariffs were incorrect on these websites, do you not think that UW would complain? The websites are regulated and would be in serious trouble if they lied.
No the simple fact is that UW have just about the most expensive gas and electricity in UK - around 30% more and costing the average customer £hundreds a year extra.
As for the absurd Triple Value Guarantee(TVG) let us spell it out for you and anyone else stupid enough to think the TVG has any worth.
You take the most expensive gas tariff available, then the most expensive electricity with another company. You then compare those 2 tariffs with UW. However you:
Exclude any internet tariff.
Exclude any discounts the other companies give.
Exclude UW's monthly club fee.
Even if you were on BG's standard dual fuel tariff, it will be cheaper than UW.
As for promising to be 'competitive' Well over a 100 metres race I would be competitive with Usain Bolt - if he had his legs tied together.
By any measure UW have extremely expensive gas and electricity and people like you spamming are just laughing stock.0
