maybe you should check the uw website why do you hate uw do you have something to gain by being a neg head you should check all your facts first why would i lie thats not the best way to advertise

You say why "would I lie"?

How else would you get people to sign up!

You have certainly come here and lied repeatedly.

You are the one who needs to read up on the UW website!

And you suggest the Which switching website is lying when it shows how expensive uw energy is. Come off it!

hi everyone sorry for the late reply back but as far as im aware suppliers have to pay to be put on these sites.

    Absolute rubbish!

The suppliers dont have to pay to be put on the sites, they only pay a commision to the site if a customer uses the site to switch to them.

Like it or not (probably not considering UW prices) the fact is all the suppliers have to provide their unit rates to the comparison sites and this is monitored by consumer focus (formaly Energywatch) if you seriously think for one minute the prices are wrong on the comparison sites then why dont you take it up with consumer focus first before spouting off on here?

Is it because (as has been said above) you have been trained to rubbish comparison sites because they do not show UW in a favorable light? Instead directing people to the UW website like their laughable joke of a savings estimator is at all unbiased?

Just wondered why you think the cashback card is 'damned hard work?' I have my phone line with UW and the card and I haven't paid for my line rental in months, UW pay me every month! Obviously its only useful if you shop in the listed shops! Just unsure why its hard work, takes 2 mins to top up every month, then just use instead of your debit/credit card! I have had the card since UW first launched them and I have had no problems, UW have no paid me over 500.00 for shopping in my normal supermarket, not a bad amount of money for doing nothing!!

Also have to say good luck with Npower!!
None of the shops are local to me, so could be a bit of a pain, and the reason I'm going with npower is that I work for them, and should be able to keep ahead of the tariff game, and like a few other posters have said, it's a risky card, and I can save 190.00 by switching fuel suppliers.

As a long time (ocassional) reader of this thread (and like janninew a very happy 'less than free' broadcall customer by use of the cashback card) can I just say I'm impressed that one of you is remembering to log out of your usual username and log in as the various 'people' who have just appeared on here to prolong the 'argument'. It's about as subtle as an air raid. Perhaps we should be requesting links to speedtest.net scores to ascertain who really is a customer and who is pretending to be one in order to satiate some people's need to prolong the argument? How about it? Seriously, have you people no family/life? I note, reading back, one of you in particular was busy on here posting late on Xmas Eve.

PS The cashback card is 'hard work'??:confused:
Yeah, I said the card looks like hard work, to make a saving that could be made by switching fuel suppliers...none of the participating stores are local to me.
As I also said in my first post on this forum, under any username, I dislike the spamming tendencies of some ID's, which I think bring the company into disrepute.
  • I am really a customer - and this is the first time I've searched this website for opinions about UW club. To be honest, it's my fault I haven't benefited from the cashback card, but that's not the reason I joined them in the first place, it was for the low prices. Even checks with uSwitch confirmed that I'd made the right decision - at that time. Personally I don't use any of my loyalty cards as much as I should, I always forget. But if I'm going to save £30+ a month on the basic cost of the fuel, that suits me. It's about doing things the way that suits you best, and for me, saving money should be simpler than this!

i suggest you read it vvveerryy slowly

With the lack of basic punctation, sentances or paragraphs all your posts have to be read slowly and more than once, and even then I'm not sure I (or you) know what you are talking about.

I suggest its you that needs to learn to read, nowhere in my post did I say UW are using advertising did I?

I believe the company that offers the best deal is the one that comes up as cheapest for the individual on a comparison site when they enter their usage in Kwh. Naming one company as offering the best deal is just plain stupid as deals very depending on usage and the region.

I really do agree with you that if the Moderator has any way of tracking down posters with a 'dual personality' (from either side of the argument!) he should 'Name and Shame'.(although the more sophisticated can avoid being traced)

You could as easily be a dual poster as the others, with a first post displaying a knowledge of this thread - that's not an accusation I would add.

The speedtest check would only work for those with UW internet of course.

However wouldn't it be better if we just concentrated on UW's high prices rather than tactics - have malo50 and Essexmum said anything wrong about UW's gas and electricity prices?

janninew was a UW gas and electricity customer and it was suggested on this forum that she drop Gas and electricity when her circumstances changed and retain the cashcard for other services.

The point many of us have been making is that there is no point in spending £hundreds more on gas and electricity just to claim it back on a cashcard.

Of course there is also the Babee card which doesn't require joining any Utility Company - the purpose of that card being ideal for janninew;)

Incidentally it does no harm to keep this thread alive, although it is understandable that UW would like it to fade away. The purpose of this website is money-saving and the more existing UW customers who know about UW high prices the better, not to mention prospective UW customers changing their mind!
  • i think there are people on her are posting under differant alias. dont have time for all that i said best value not cheapest who wants the cheapest if it has crap customer service etc i know what i would have its like going to a cheap restaurant because its cheap and then you get rubbish food why would that be i would rather pay a little more. in reply to 1.76 well it is a club doh. uw dis
