..don't know what happened with the original one, but hope this helps people believe that I am an UW customer.

Jannine have you had a look at the babee card that was posted about somewhere on the thread, its another prepaid card, but I think you have to buy vouchers at a discount to take advantage of it, I only ask as I'm expecting a grandchild in the Spring and thought it looked useful.

Obviously the first one was wrong...don't know if I did the test right...can't be held responsible for the speed net test site, and I don't keep results from 3 months ago, especially as today is the first time I've visited that site, and even if the second one had of been genuinely from 10 days ago...so what? I haven't changed my broadabnd supplier in 10 days, just after doing a test, a copy of which I kept. The reason operastar was being a jackass about it wasn't to test speed, rather to check I was a UWcustomer, and therefore entitled to be a dsigruntled UW customer.
Now that you've got my broadband speed results, have any of these tests reduced the price of UW fuels or changed the savings I'm going to make by switching?0 -
How do they get the vouchers to you? Can you get change on the vouchers? And aren't the online discounts just by way of affiliate links a la Quidco/topcashback etc? And do you get cashback on online grocery shopping from the supermarkets you mention with the babee card? Sorry for all the questions but I think it important that we are comparing like for like here.
As you seem to be asking all the questions, may I request that you answer a couple?
Are you a UW salesperson?
Do you agree that UW gas and electricity prices are several hundred pounds more expensive than the cheapest tariffs for the average UK customer?0 -
Hallo Malo, thought I'd picture your latest test results.
It a bit off topic , but are you a very long way from your exchange as your speeds are very low. It would be worth plugging your router into your master sockets test socket to eliminate extention wiring to see if it improves.
There is a good article about this sort of thing here:-

Hi Penrhyn, at last a friendly face! No idea how far away I am from exchange. How could I find out, please? Have to check the way it's set up...just moved in with GF and have no idea where the router is or anything.
PS Thanks for posting the image0 -
You can find out from http://www.samknows.com/broadband/mapping/mapping.php
Enter your post code and follow the instructions, it was very pessimistic for me quotes 3.5mbps wheras I get 7 ish. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
malo50/EssexMum,
I really wouldn't worry about having to prove your credentials; that hasn't really been why you have been challenged.
This thread has been plauged with posters joining MSE and immediately posting solely on this UW thread. Because so many are imposters(usually UW salesmen) any newcomer is viewed with suspicion. The accusation from Oprastar(who has himself just joined) is that you two and energyman are 'stooges' and it is one of the regular posters simply posting using your names.
As so often happens on this thread, we get(deliberately) diverted away from very high UW prices and the discussion moved onto any other subject.
Certainly oprastar seems to have such an agenda. Be interesting if he is prepared to discuss the very high UW prices and admit that the average UK customer will pay £hundreds more for gas and electricity if they are silly enough to be with UW.
I suspect he won't admit such facts are true or be prepared to discuss UW prices. His Modus operandi is remarkably like 1973safc - who came and went!0 -
