Indeed a UW ID has posted on the forum that he received an email alerting him in advance of the survey. He doesn’t state who sent the email, and it is not suggested that UW HQ had any involvement, but it suggests, understandably, that lobbying does take place.

As this particular ID hasn't backed up this statement with names/dates or even a copy of the email sent to him, I don't really think this can be held up.

I'm a UW ID and Which? subscriber and can categorically state that I have NEVER received any requests to vote in a Which? survey about energies nor have I ever received any email requesting that I vote.

Indeed, so far as I am aware, only subscribers who have received an invitation to vote can be a part of a survey can be counted, so lobbying by email would be pointless.

The UW should be grateful to MSE for deleting posts from its reps who offered to send out copies of the Which report to readers here if they would pm their e-mail addresses to them!

(It breaks the licence rules of Which for businesses to use their reports like this)

You beat me to it Maz. I too have NEVER received any emails requesting I vote or urge others to vote. Nor do I subscribe to Which?

The AUWF are trying everything now in one last attempt to try and get their failed message across. It's equivalent to what happens in a school classroom where children who are desperate to gain attention will do anything (even climb on tables) to do so. It's called the storm before the calm.

How long the storm will last is anyone's guess though because there are a few members of the AUWF.

The calm will come I'm sure though.

Cardew, have you also sent this to Which? magazines' legal department? I feel it would be a bit hit and miss to just post on this thread, in the hope that some employee of Which? might happen to be reading it.

If you feel you have a case, I would be surprised if you haven't put it formally and in writing.

According to the quasi legal expert, WHICH representatives are reading this thread – and I really hope that is true.

I, and others, merely state that this survey is flawed and open to abuse by vested interests.

Should they wish, WHICH themselves can trace the UW ID’s who make false claims that UW have been awarded BEST BUY status for gas and electricity. Such as this in post#4056;)

Maybe it was the famous impartial consumer magazine's surveys that voted UW as Best Buy for gas, elec, broadband, telephony and customer service.

    Hi Q

You know all about rules don't you and breaking them?

Any chance of giving me the username you use to gain access to the NWP site a site which you (not being a UW ID) has any right to join?

How do know what he is? He's never told you. Making assumptions again.

You seem to know very little regarding how gullibles can join your company via comparison websites and get cashback for doing so!

What did you do on your recent training course for beginners? Hope it wasn't a complete waste of time!

    Thanks

Which? reports can be downloaded from the IDs extranet so presumably, it's perfectly OK and all above board.

I can't see HO queering their pitch by making these documents available wihtout the necessary say so.
