Just because you go on training doesn't make you an instant expert. It's a continual learning exercise. New people nervous enough in case they make a mistake.
Surely that is another issue for UW to deal with.
If they are willing for people likely to make a mistake to sell on their behalf, what does that say about them.
why not give every ID a probationary period - say your first 12 sales will not be paid unless the customer makes no complaint in the first 6 months?
This has been my issue with UW, not their charges, not their methodology but the fact that they let untrained and unqualified (in the past) and now 'nervous' (is that another special UW definition?) agents make sales on their behalf.
How can any prospect trust a newly qualified ID?0 -

Can't speak for Jimexbox - it's type 2 Diabetes in my case and I'm skinny as well which makes it worse.0 -

While I understand and in a sense sympathise with your view you miss the point about UW - it isn't a traditional business model like BG and BT so the rules by necessity are different. We don't 'sell' in the same way your colleagues 'sell'. We recommend. And the reason why they recommend is beacuse IDs are customers first and distributors second. With respect to your colleagues BG sales people don't recommend.0 -

I think you have a good point SJ, although 6 months is a big time frame - I'm pretty sure all the 'Cobra-employed' types that sell Sky one week and EDF the next only get 'clawback' if their customers cancel within 90 days. Maybe it 'says' that UW are confident they can handle any customer problems?
The main problem that most ID's suffer from is over-promising and under-delivering. It's a shame really, although I can see why it happens. They promise the earth when really they don't need to - after all, most of our competitors don't even offer a 'personal point of contact' so why some ID's choose to offer more above this is beyond me...Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

I lost even more weight when I was put on my medication. Stabilised now though. I thought I was shrinking at one time like the incredible shrinking man.
Anyone else remember that film.0 -

My best friend is also my greatest inspiration. Diagnosed with diabetes 5 years ago and living the sedentary, alcohol-fuelled lifestyle I lead, he switched his life around got into martial arts, fitness, and general 'good health', he is now a picture of health, fitness, and happiness. Someone I truly admire and want to aspire to.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

I agree that misplaced enthusiasm could account for some of it but could you imagine if I tried to defend a BG salesman by saying he over-promised and under-delivered? If it is not mis-selling, it is very close, even if not deliberate.0 -
I pulled 6 months out of the air, 90 days/3 months would work too.

I take your point, but in the case of UW, any serious ID would be thinking more about the long-term residual income and not the initial bonus. Any ID who is serious about building a long-term income needs to seriously think about what they say/do...you're only as good or as referrable as you are.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0
