I've no doubt that the serious IDs act in this manner, but if you are new to it, eager to get on etc that's when mistakes happen and no-one has ever confirmed what checks are made on a sale.
If the average customers is 9, and the serious IDs have more it is likely to be these lower performing IDs that are out of practice or new that make the mistakes.
Does UW make any checks on their IDs? E.g. a follow up survey?
(How did you find SeaWolf? Was he polite & friendly?....)

Keggs, we've been through this before. No matter how you beleive you operate, you are a salesman. You could just as easily argue that any slaesman only 'recommends'. Last time we went round this, no other ID stood forward to claim that they weren't salesmen

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree. What other IDs think is up to them.

Take your point sincerely, but given that for most of the services there is no 'minimum term contract' they could simply vote with their feet...no need to make checks - we just lose customers, they lose their bonuses, and either quit or resolve to improve...

Had a call from BG last night, Iasked him the unit price for electricity. First 200 units are at 19.6 p (to hide the £12.50 service charge), over that, its 13.4 p, with night rate being a flat 5p/unit. He claimed to be cheaper than my current supplier. I told him I pay 11.35p/unit dayrate & 3.5p/unit nights. His reply?
    'Oh, another UW customer'.

Unlike EDF & BG, at least UW does actually review my average monthly usage each year and adjust my monthly payments accordingly.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

    3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)

I'm sorry the person who introduced you has been a bit 'off' - is he new? It can be difficult for new IDs so be patient with him. As we are not trained in the same way as traditional sales people, it is a constant learning experience so we can make mistakes. We are customers first and IDs second.

    More "crocodile tears" from keggs.

The perverse keggs gives the impression to us that he as a uw rep would give sparkling service to a customer getting problems.

Over on the reps forum where keggs acts as an agony aunt and dispenses advice to other reps he had this one to deal with:

A rep has signed up a friend (sick, living in "tiny" one bed sheltered accomodation) who at most pays £10/month for G + E.

But UW HO set the DD at around £80/month, sending the customer (quite rightly) up the pole. The rep tries to sort it out, but the next month the same thing happens.

The rep asks what he should do.

Keggs "Unique Customer Service" reply to the unfortunate, frustrated rep:

"Personally I would tell him to cancel his services. No point risking any further aggro"!

Q, please...even the anti-UW folks must surely be getting tired of your anti-UW polemic now. I would wager that the 'casual observer' has ascertained that UW is good of it 'fits' and not so good if it doesn't 'fit'.

Your crusade to undermine UW and its ID's is clealry some kind of inexplicable 'personal war', and that's fine, but if you are going to post here, canit be constructive please?

About 1/4 of our food shopping is in M&S

As you told us you spend £160/month on food shopping, then this means as much as £10/week is being spent at M+S.

(You could of course get some discount on that by way of reward points if you were interested in getting a M+S card).

So you can't see how constructive it is to readers to realise that a vociferous uw rep is not in truth what he appears to be here, where he tries hard to paint a picture of the great personal service we would get from him were he our personal "upline" man from uw?
