Hi Cardew
As usual you use information and twist it. Once again I have to remind you that UW isn't about being the cheapest or best tariff. UW is not in the business of being the cheapest. It never has has been and never will. It's about more than this. It's about saving people money all round while at the same time offering them other benefits which no other company offers including personal service from perople who recommended UW to them in the first place. It's about trust. Yes there are some reps who might abuse that but they are dealt with severely if that is the case.
You and Quentin are the one's obsessed with the cheapest. But not everyone else is here or elsewhere as I have continually commented but is deliberately ignored
Good value means more than this. It's about money saving, yes. But it's also about good service, something the company excels at.
If people have more interest in getting the cheapest rate for everything then they simply carry on doing what they've always done. It they want more than this then UW can and does offer more than this compared to competitors. If they didn't they wouldn't have over 200,000 customers and growing steadily.
As for hearing both sides of the argument, we are not allowed to fully put our side of the argument because we would then be accused of breaking the rule that states we can't promote. UW distributors are damned either way and you know that and you use it to further your own side of the argument. That in my view is unfairly skewed in your favour.
As for your last paragraph. What in God's name is wrong with someone who is a friend or relative being paid for recommending something to them? I personally prefer to talk to people I don't know. My only worry about talking to friends and relatives is because if something went wrong and it can and I freely accept that it can, does osometimes affect the relationship. I also prefer to talk to pepople I don't know because it is a good way of getting to know new people.
Your objection to being paid (and in the grand scheme of things it's miniscule) is to put it bluntly crass.
I asked you a question a while back. I'll ask it again. Would you refuse to buy anything off a friend knowing they would make money from selling it to you? If you would then your argument about the modus operandi of UW is hypocritical. If you answer no then I will aceept your point of view but it doesn't make you right and me wrong. It all about choice.
Do you buy anything off Kleenze? If you do and that person happens to be someone you know then you are breaking your own rule.
Best wishes
Steve

Hiya
Its not onlne as yet as its a think we talk to customers about but here is the details:
You join as a customer, then you give your people you know a freephone number to call, and when they call they give your acc number and if they join you get a discount on your bills.
The discount is 0.5% for each service taken your friends. So if someone signs up for gas and electricity, that's a discount of 1%.If they also take BroadCall (which counts as two services) then their discount is 2%. So a customerwho introduced 10 friends could receive a 20% discount on their bill. Every month, forever!
Hope this helps? if not let me know.
Cheers
Jim

One would hope Cardew works for a company (actually, he strikes me as the Technical Director-type
) that sells the absolute cheapest product on the market or, surely, he must live by the ideals he presents on here and leave first thing Monday morning?
Similarly, all this talk about selling to friends blah blah blah. I have on MANY ocassions asked the nayasyers decrying UW reps for doing this to confirm they make sure ALL their friends/friend's friends, neighbours, little old lady down the road etc etc are currently on the very best deal for them. If they can confirm this here then they have every right to pontificate on here. Problem is they NEVER respond to my challenge because, let's face it, they clearly can't be @rsed to do it for no recompense and conveniently ignore my question (a bit like Quentin has ignored my question regarding what energy company he uses for fear of me then counting how many times IT has had ASA adjudications against it  )
When I started my 'crusade' virtually ALL my friends were on standard tariffs and had been for yonks! I managed to get many of them to switch to Click 5 from BG (although some, even though they had net access, just didn't want to go down that route). What happens?? BG, Cardew's 'beloved' energy supplier, then goes and introduces Click 6 whilst putting Click 5 up by a crazy amount! And guess what again? The ones I managed to get to change to Click 5 WON'T be automatically put on Click 6. Oh no, they have to REQUEST to go on it! So, I now have to get in touch with all my friends and tell them. FOR NO RECOMPENSE. There are LOADS of total hypocrites in this thread - Cardew & Quentin being the absolutely epitome of the word.Call me Carmine....

I do not know any other that does this, welcome to UWDC! but here is a bit of advice if you can get the discount then think about being an ID like Steve and me, but the problem is this how do you find about the business opp?
Well that is a good one as we can not advertise!

Carmine, well put. This is exactly my point i made earlier. The average person dont want to keep swapping and wants a good deal year in and year out! This is where we have an advantage and is the point i make when sighning up new clients.

It's reminiscent of the silence when the cashback card was mentioned. But even Quentin doeesn't seem to want to break the silnce this time (he didn't the last time I challeged the naysyers to say if they personally make sure all their friends/family/neighbours etc are paying no more for their fuel than necessary. Hypocrites, the lot of them. :rotfl:Call me Carmine....
