Carmine - Just for your information Jimexbox seems to think you put him on ignore as he embarrased you! Is that true?

HaHa! I think you was also present that fateful day, janninew, the one where he was suggesting I'd said something that he had actually said himself? His extremely odd behaviour genuinely worried me that day and I put him on ignore so as not to be implicated if anything horrible happened. The God's honest truth. And he will remain on ignore even though he's plainly missing me, lol.
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

I think we've already established that UW isn't for you, mech  By your own admission your retail spend is miniscule (£15 a week?), you don't have a car and there is one person in your household. Plus you clearly spend a disproportionate amonunt of time (compared to certainly the time I'd spend on this) walking from shop to shop to get the 'best' deal.
It's only occasional for non-perishables. Hobgoblin is £1 a 500ml bottle at Asda at the moment. It's £4 for 3 at Tesco - 33% more. What I'll do is go to Asda with a rucksack and empty the shelf. Should keep me going for a couple of months.
What you seem to find almost impossible to understand is that not every household is a carbon copy of yours. And if the shopping & grocery forum is anything to go by a sizeable amount of people who used to shop where you shop (Tesco) have migrated to Sainsburys on account of the cheaper prices* And the 4p curry sauce would be a false economy for you as it's 'family' size. I think that's just about covered all points...
Quite so, not every household is the same. I have pointed out in the past that greater percentage savings are possible for people who spend more, so I'm just the thin end of the wedge, clearly. Look at the list of money off coupons usable online on mysupermarket. There's always a huge list for Tesco, nothing for Sainsburys. Frequently £10 off £50 at Tesco no less. I can't even use them, I don't spend enough. And people have been using two codes in one transaction and finding they still work. 20% off! FOUR TIMES the UW cashback card discount at Sainsburys!
Edit: One more point. I'm assuming you are maximising your savings by cashback trousering? if so, I would be interested to know where you're moving to next and on what tariff.
I'll find out when something else nice comes along. I don't feel the need to switch often. (Just realised I haven't even factored in the Nectar points I'll get from EDF now).

It can be good fun too though, uptomyeyeballs.

I'm sure that in 'another reality' everyone can accept what most UW ID's (especially recently) are saying - 'it's not for everyone, but if you can make it work for you, then great'. Just as it won't be a good fit for a lot of people.

I'm also sure that much of what is written on here is done thinking, 'I've got 15 minutes free, let's go and wind-up some UW ID's for a bit' or, 'I've got 15 minutes free, let's see if I can get a rise out of some of the anti-UW lot'.

I must admit that I am as guilty of that as anyone here. Daft I know but fills in a few minutes

I know Carmine, I thought you would like to see what he is telling people on here. It certainly was a strange day, Jimexbox made some very perculiar posts which he seems to have forgotton about! I would look back and repost but I can't really be bothered!

And Wythwood's "Goliath" ruby bitter is £1 as well, in case the Hobgoblin is out of stock. Have a look on mysupermarket at Asda's beer shelf, there are quite a few at £1 at the moment.

I don't know if Piddle in the Hole is still £1 at Morrisons, but that's rather nice too. That's what I stocked up on last time. I can't resist Hobgoblin though.

Piddle in The Hole was always £1 when we shopped at Morrisons. I prefer the darker stuff myself, Old Peculier, Satanic Mills, Snecklifter, and my personal favourite, which I've only ever found in Tesco's, is a Scottish porter-style called Midnight Sun - beautiful!

I wasn't. Just responded to say how happy I am for you. But can you be happy for those who choose UW instead of faffing about looking for the cheapest or to use your words judiciously use Tesco vouchers.

I bet you're a cheap night out. Even cheaper than me since I don't drink or smoke?

I switched to UW about two months ago I came across from British gas that were ripping me off{so what's new:cool:}At first I was quite impressed by the lad that came around and went through it with us, however, his technical knowledge on Broadband was in a word 'eyewash' and I could have run rings around him but being polite I let it go.

Once connected to their Gas, Electric and Broadcall services things were ok until on checking the the speed on my modem it was reading what it was before, they hadn't upgraded the line, a quick call sorted it. Then a week later I got a bill from Tiscali whom were the previous provider for Telephone/BB . They hadn't even close the Tiscali account that they promised they would do, Tiscali didn't help, the MAC number was given out and then billed me for non-services. Tiscali are another problem anyway and I took this as an oversight on UW part. The worst bit is the telephone and I've batted on about that on other threads, enough not to have to go through it again.
    Tip!
BTW don't let them bamboozle you with wireless and fixed modems, if you already have a wireless modem it will work with the BB connection the cost rises dramatically if you choose the wireless option by an extra £10 per month another rip off if you are not IT/BB savvy.

The thing that has naffed me off is now the rep doesn't want to know if a problem arises, ermmm! Hello this is your franchise we bought the services from! So now you have your MLM ascension you couldn't give a toss - that's how it comes across to me. Now I deal direct with the head office, I hope they take his promotion off him:mad:

I only went over to UW to do my daughters partner a favour as the rep is one of his clients so I'll give it a year and then move on unless they dramatically !!!! up again then in which case it will be sooner.

Really I can so far only give it the thumbs down for now, it's up to them to get the thumbs up....we'll see.
