I got £60 quid cashback from switching to a cheaper energy supplier (27% cheaper on my usage than UW).
Plus I've just worked out that I've been getting an average of 7.9% off my weekly shop over the past year by judicious use of Tesco coupons. I didn't even have to use any points on Clubcard deals at 4 times the face value to get that. Mostly that's "£x off a £xx spend" ones.
I'm still not tempted to switch to the dearer Sainsburys. My local Sainsburys doesn't even stock the 4p curry sauce, I checked.
I think we've already established that UW isn't for you, mech  By your own admission your retail spend is miniscule (£15 a week?), you don't have a car and there is one person in your household. Plus you clearly spend a disproportionate amonunt of time (compared to certainly the time I'd spend on this) walking from shop to shop to get the 'best' deal. What you seem to find almost impossible to understand is that not every household is a carbon copy of yours. And if the shopping & grocery forum is anything to go by a sizeable amount of people who used to shop where you shop (Tesco) have migrated to Sainsburys on account of the cheaper prices* And the 4p curry sauce would be a false economy for you as it's 'family' size. I think that's just about covered all points...
Edit: One more point. I'm assuming you are maximising your savings by cashback trousering? if so, I would be interested to know where you're moving to next and on what tariff.

This is what I just don't get - the members of the AUWF are all Big 6 customers but make out that UW are the dodgiest energy supplier. Talking of BGs websaver, the new ones (websaver 3 & 4) have a £60 cancellation fee EVEN IF YOU CHANGE TO THE NEW WEBSAVER TARIFF THAT WILL BE ALONG SHORTLY! I mean, how ridiculous is that?
Then of course we have Eon with their never-ending exit fee and Scottish Power with their current scheme to make punters on their just ended online tariff opt out of going onto a new fixed tariff with an exit fee (that I believe Ofgem are currently assessing the legality of). You just couldn't make it up.
Its quite ironic if a little suspicious that you have failed to criticise UW for bringing in a exit penalty you so despise. Come carmine time to put up or shut up, you wax lyrical about the evil 6 and their terrible deeds which should be outlawed, go criticise UW is such voracious language.
I still believe he has me on 'ignore' list for embarrassing him, so if a kindly rep would pm him my proposal, it would be most appreciated.0 -

Do you seriously expect us to believe that uw reps ("professionals" in the energy selling game, and purveyors of the worthless guarantee) need to ask this question?Decado wrote:does anybody here know if existing customers on one of the numbered tarrifs (eg websaver 6, sign online 16 etc) from the big 6 automatically get transferred to the latest version, or do they have to keep a constant eye on the tarrifs themselves and request a change if appropriate?0 -

An unusual description for a loyalty bonus. I thought an exit penalty was something that meant you incurred a cost if you left.
Perhaps this is just an oversight or a misunderstanding.

Amazing, UW reps call it a loyalty bonus. One which shafts existing loyal customers, nice. Where is reality its a 'lock-in' bonus.

Anyone spotted a recurring theme coming from those who meet elsewhere on the net at the uw supporters operated "closed" forums?0 -

Yes I do. For the benefit of everyone here, regardless of who they are with so that they can make informed choices going forward. Isn't this what this kind of forum is about - I would call this altruistic behaviour, something I would have thought you would recognise....?
I have said many times before Quentin, I don't need to know what the other companies are doing in order to promote what UW offer. Sales is sales. Anyone who gets bogged down in learning minute details about competitors business practices would never get any work done.
UW is UW, and it's what I have to work with, whether it suits a potential customer or not. I don't care what a competitor offers, only what I can offer a customer compared to what they currently have. It would be in everyone's interest (pro or anti UW) to know the answer to Decado's question to help them in the future - yet you use it as an opportunity to bash UW again...what is the inexplicable obsession? It can't be altruistic as you state otherwise you wouldn't have challenged his altruistic behaviour when he posted the question...Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

Without rational debate, i.e. the truth. This thread would be little more than a recruiting drive for UW. You want to delete it too eh? And UW would dearly like this thread deleted. Two sides of the same knife which wishes to stifle free debate, a little sad.0 -

You insult all that come here by continuing to suggest the "question" was a genuine cry for help!0
