For clarification the consumer focus (taken over from energywatch) standard profiles for low, standard, high energy usage measured in kWh

    standard electricity meter
    electricity 1650,3300,4950
    gas 10000,20500,28000

economy 7 meter assuming 55% night time usage
    electricity 3300,6600,9900
    gas 10000,20500,28000

These figures are meaningless to be honest. You can have a 1 bed studio flat and a 6 bed detached house both measured as a standard user. Where in reality the 6 bed house would be a low user and the studio flat a very high user. A far better guide, is the size of property and number of people who live there.

In answer a better estimate is to take your actual previous years usage. A suggestion made by many already including myself many, many times before and also in the last post. Basing actual usage on number of rooms and number of people as you suggest is as inaccurate as saying low, standard or high usage profiles. Why you don't want to give your usage I don't understand.

The average IQ and height in UK are 100 and 5' 9.7". My personal numbers are much higher so don't fit the averages.

It is better to use your previous years usage as a better estimate of your energy usage over the next year.

Even using the the standard user definition (which is meaningless) UW are still 18% more expensive than my current tariff, and 19% higher on the high user definition. Which many folk living in 3 bed property's will be much closer too.

    Still contend UW are competitive?

Yes, I am getting much cheaper than I could elsewhere, so is carmine and also janninew. These are not isolated situations either. This is a point that has been brought up many times before. Janninew has had negative bills. I certainly still not interested in moving away and paying more for my bills in total. Nor is Carmine or Janninew.

Now I have answered that question I will pose some questions in your style of prose.

Still refusing to give your actual figures?

Still refusing to acknowledge that UW provide an excellent value combined package and not just energy?

Still paying over the odds for your own services while cheekily trying to advise others what to do?

Still not convinced the on-line deals from the other companies are not just short term discounts that disappear after a few months?

Still believe the commission based on-line energy swapping companies give correct figures for UW? (It has been proved many times over that they don't)

The thread is about UW and their extremely high gas and electricity prices.
Er, no, actually. This thread is about Utility Warehouse as a whole because the company is not supposed be discussed elsewhere. As to high prices, it depends. I save money every month compared to what I would pay had I been with two companies that were quoted to me as THE cheapest for G & E. I can not be bothered to trawl back through the numerous messages here or go through the process again to satisfy your request for numbers. Don't forget that my £4.50 per month saving was before the 2% price reduction. This is a money saving site and it is a fact that some people can save money by being with Utility Warehouse.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

Lets take SimplySwitch average figures for a 3 bed house then, happy with that?
No. Because "average" doesn't work for me in my circumstances. And, "average" doesn't work for a whole lot of people. Everybody should be looking at their actual use, wants and what they are prepared or able to do in order to find the best deal.

:confused:This is a UW thread that relates to their energy, after all it is in the 'gas & electric' forum
But, this is the only thread supposed to be used for Utility Warehouse. Therefore it is fair that all "departments" of the company be discussed here. Carmine spotted a good deal that will save people money and it has a bearing on Utility Warehouse customers. I do not see why you would object to one member showing others how to save some money.

Completely agree with this. We are only allowed to discuss UW here, if we wanted to discuss UWs internet or phone services we would have to start a new thread on another board, which I don't think were allowed to do. As a UW customer I am interested in hearing about ways to save more money on the cashback card. Obviously this won't interest people who aren't with UW. I think some people have a problem with us discussing the various benefits we get, but at the end of the day thats one of the reasons for this thread. Or is this thread just for the people who have a 'vested' interest in discrediting the company?!

I await Jimexbox's usual response about how much UW will cost him and asking me why I use them for my utilities! :D

No.The best guide is the actual readings of the individual looking for their best deal.
