  • Another absolute stonking Comet no-brainer deal if you are after a decent laptop. £359.00

    http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/565105/TOSHIBA-L300-29X

4gb RAM and 250gb HDD. Use the code I mantioned earlier to reduce it to £348, go through Quidco/topcashback/cashbackkings etc for another 3.5% off (£12) and pay for it on your UW card for a handy £17+ off your UW bill! Plus you also get that nice 10% off next purchase (no matter how large!) voucher emailed you.

Best price i can see for this elsewhere is £400 at Play (although it could be 2p and it still woudldn't be a great deal as they aint got it in stock).

Eh, if you're happy paying considerably more than you could, that is entirely your choice. Although this a money saving forum, and it would be remiss of fellow members not to point out this fact. Try entering your consumption figures into MSE recommended energyhelpline to see how much you could save.

UW would cost me an extra 19% (£257) this year alone, I'm sure you would agree a considerable amount of money. Once you are used to monitoring your own energy usage, you might even find monthly billing superfluous to your requirements.

Seems you did not read Janninew's post Jimexbox. Surely Janninew said she got a negative bill last month and will most likely end up getting the same this next month. How do expect her to get cheaper than that. The free calls 24/7 at no extra cost to 01,02,03,0845,0870 by taking 4 services with UW outweighs any short term discount she gets by swapping energy to another provider, of which she would have to keep swapping again afterwards and fall foul of exit fees, minimum term contracts, discount paid back only after minimum contract period etc. that is the reality with other suppliers. The cashback card is an extra discount on top.

Come on, I am a UW veteran, I have all the badges and polish them regularly together with my size 12 boots. You constantly try to advise Janninew and others on what to do. I know what I am doing. Janninew knows what she is doing. After all in total she is paying far less than you are each month in total yet you constantly try to advise her what to do. She doesn't try to tell you what to do but if she pays far less than you maybe you should listen to her instead. Janninew is an astute lady.

I have entered my figures onto a MSE recommended energyhelpline and I posted my findings on here a few weeks backs. I have told everybody my usage figures (have you?!) and posted what savings I would make (9.00 per month). But we all know that these web-site aren't entirely accurate.

We all know how much UW would cost you a year, you tell us often enough, nobody is suggesting your change suppliers, so what does it matter?

Your starting to sound like a broken record!

Thanks for the link Carmine! I've just been with my Dad and he is the proud owner of a new Plasma TV. Looks like I will be getting a negative bill in September as well!

Is that an upside down badge?;)

Why would I be paying 19% extra with UW then? Very puzzling. Do you believe that energyhelpline are deliberately misleading MSE members? I would have to spend £5000 on the UW card just to achieve the same level of tariff that I'm on now. Seems an odd way to manage your energy needs, choose a very expensive tariff, then spend all year trying to reduce it.

Any UW member with money saving at their heart, who take your broadband and phone, then with sufficient spend on the UW discount card these could effectively be obtained for free. You could even make a profit, with UW crediting any surplus back to your account. Then choose a far cheaper online energy tariff. This would maximise your UW discount card, and provide far cheaper energy.

You claim this but have not posted numbers to be verified.

How can any number I post be verified? I could make any figures up, and would proabbly be accused of this exact thing. Some folk have spent a considerable amount of time aready trying to discredit me, sad.

Another great deal for UW card users.

    http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Panasonic+Panasonic+TX-P42X10+Plasma+TV/123247313,default,pd.html?cgid=9010

    I_123247313_50_20090314?resMode=sharp&op_usm=1.1,0.5,0,0&rgn=0,0,600,400&scl=1.1799410029498525&id=1rU0ojSPF8rotIOkv07ERk
£599.99. FREE 5 year guarantee. The TV can be had for as little as £556 elsewhere but, of course, you don't get the 5 year warranty!

Same price (£599) with 5 year warranty at John Lewis but this time you don't get the £12 Q/TCB/CBK cashback! But of course the crucial deal sweetener would be the £60 off the UW bill as long as you paid for it on your UW card during the month of September. Effectively making it £528. Many retailers would charge £200-ish for the 5 year warranty upgrade alone. It's a very well-reviewed HD Ready large-screen (42") plasma at a great price...especially for UW customers!

Your numbers can not be verified but who cares? My figures were accepted as truth without question. The only query was the percentage of night time economy 7 electricity that I use, because it isn't "average." I do not see why yours should be treated differently. People do not have to put effort into discrediting you, some of your posts do that for you. The same as Quentin stating that Utility Warehouse independent distributors get discounted prices from the company for their electricity and gas which is untrue.

Call me a cynic, but, I am beginning to suspect that you can't get your numbers to fit the 19% saving you have told us about. I will be happy for you if you do pay 19% less than you would with Utility Warehouse. That's no problem as far as I am concerned. I just wish that you would accept that other people are happy saving money in the same way that I am comfortable with. This site is about saving money and this thread refers to Utility Warehouse specifically. The company will certainly not suit everybody, however, a significant percentage of the population will benefit financially by being customers.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.
