    I would contend
You do quite a bit of contending but do not offer facts. You state that you save a percentage on your utility bill by being with another company but do not show exact figures. I am happy that you save yourself money in the way that you want. But, I expect the same courtesy from you and others. Carmine has found a deal with Utility Warehouse that suits his money saving requirements and so have I. Other people have too. Therefore it is a fact that a percentage of the utilities market customers can benefit by being with Utility Warehouse. Along with Quentin, Cardew and some others, you ignore personal circumstances, preferences, availability of shops, and daily routine.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

Do you not understand that the post is for new readers of the thread who might actually be interested in the gas and electricity prices that UW charge and not appreciate that UW have just about the highest prices in UK.
And you ignore the fact that for many people Utility Warehouse can be the cheapest choice as evidenced by Carmine's, mine and the experience of many others who are not "average" and are happy to shop in a particular way.

Just a reminder to all the UW folk, don't forget to submit your readings today! I've just done mine now and i've hardly used any gas at all, think I may be getting another negative bill this month, infact I think UW will end up paying me (again!)

Fantastic, janninew! Our gas consumption has halved compared to last month, and our leccy consumption is down by approx 10%. I'm convinced this is mostly down to knowing that meter reading has to go in at the end of the month. It really has concentarted my mind on what we are using.

No chance of a negative bill for me this month but I'm happy with the £36 cash back card discount which will effectively reduce my bill for leccy, u/l broadband and all my calls for the month by approx 50% (gas won't be charged until next month, apparently). Should come in at approx £35 net. Amazing when you consider the nearest BT bb/phone/calls package to my UW one would come in at well over £40 for the month - then I'd have to pay for my leccy for the month as well!

There is no doubt in my mind that I am much more careful with my
gas/electric consumption, I actually see it as a bit of a challenge now!

My Dad has just called, he has seen a TV in Comet and he has decided to buy it, we will use my cashback card of course. The TV is just over a thousand pounds, that will give me another nice discount next month! I have searched the internet and found the TV for 25.00 cheaper than Comet, but my Dad will not buy anything from the internet (very old fashioned!) plus the fact that he gets to help his Daughter out is a bonus! :j

You're wasting time and effort reducing a very expensive energy tariff. If you are that careful in checking consumption do you really need monthly billing? Which you tell us is the only reason you are with UW. You could slash your energy bill with little effort by choosing an online tariff, you can still monitor you energy consumption, only pay considerably less for it.

I have been polite enough to answer that question several times and my answer is no different now than last week. Please stop asking me the same questions, its getting boring. I don't tell you how to pay your bills or who to use, so please don't tell me. For the very last time I am happy with my choice and will not be using a online tariff.

There are currently some fantastic deals at Comet (most of them unbeatable WITHOUT taking into account the UW cash back card). Here they are (hope the link works):

    http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/advice/760?cm_mmc=Email-_-AugBH-_-Deals-_-landing

Plus if you buy any of the As seen on TV deals shown you get emailed a 10% discount voucher for use on your next purchase (not restricted at all, acn be used on anything on site/in-store).

Be aware that some of these deals end today (others end 2/9/09).

NB. For maximum benefit go through Quidco/topcashback etc etc for a further 3.5% cash back (works on click and collect, btw, janninew!) and the 3% discount code in the relevant section on here which should have expired but hasn't! This way your father gets to simply reserve the TV online for collection in-store. No payment changes hands until you get the TV. It's another £65 off the price!

    Code: 3150AW

Edit: The Samsung netbook at £249 is a killer deal on its own (£288 at Amazon, for instance). Using Quidco/topcashback and the discount code and paying on the uW card gets the net price (pardon the pun) down to approx £223. Don't forget you then also gte the 10% off your next purchase. A no-brainer, in other words (if you're looking for a netbook, of course).

Eh, if you're happy paying considerably more than you could, that is entirely your choice. Although this a money saving forum, and it would be remiss of fellow members not to point out this fact. Try entering your consumption figures into MSE recommended energyhelpline to see how much you could save.

UW would cost me an extra 19% (£257) this year alone, I'm sure you would agree a considerable amount of money. Once you are used to monitoring your own energy usage, you might even find monthly billing superfluous to your requirements.

Correct. And many people can actually save money by becoming customers of Utility Warehouse, as Carmine's challenge and my figures have shown.

You claim this but have not posted numbers to be verified.
