That is quite typical of your modus operandi.
You make completely incorrect assumptions, and based on those incorrect assumptions, question my judgement.
Now do you want to talk about UW's extremely high gas and electricity prices or do you want to try more diversionary tactics? - the ultimate rhetorical question!!!
Diversionary tactics?? Me??? Still no comment on the savings to be made on the little used annexe, I seeNow do you want to talk about the fact you are advising people in this thread on saving money whilst losing £78 per year on the gas and electric on your little-used annexe? What possible explanation could you give that wouldn't be embarrassing, given your arrogant stance on here?
Admit it, on certain technical issues you are very clued up (no question) but on money saving you are very poor. We can't be good at everything (for instance, my maths is generally as crap as can be)...Call me Carmine....

OK I will bite!
I was not aware that i had even stated my gas consumption on MSE - but little doubt if I had, you would have it researched and recorded the detail somewhere.
So tell me how I save £78 per year on my gas and electricity; without using a cashcard of course - cos I don't want to use a cashcard.0 -

PS Nice to see we finally have an admission regarding you not using a cashcard. Wasn't too painful I hope. Progress all the same.Call me Carmine....

I do recall stating that I had used 170kWh electricity in the past 12 months.I was not aware that I had even stated my gas consumption on MSE - but little doubt if I had, you would have it researched and recorded the detail somewhere.0 -
No, you didn't post your gas consumption, curiously. Just your elecricity consumption. I wonder why? Could it be that on the figure you used it wouldn't look so impressively cheap as your leccy consumption againt UW? I don't suppose we will ever get the real figure and how much you pay. Suffice to say, you would be paying a NEGATIVE AMOUNT elsewhere on that little-used annexe but, of course, remain with BG. Telling...Call me Carmine....

I have no recollection of posting my gas consumption - could you point out the post pleaseCarmine
No, you didn't post your gas consumption
Says it all really - sad!0 -
Call me a cynic, but, I am beginning to suspect that you can't get your numbers to fit the 19% saving you have told us about. I will be happy for you if you do pay 19% less than you would with Utility Warehouse.
Lets take SimplySwitch average figures for a 3 bed house then, happy with that? The often used figures of 20,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh are a very broad average of the entire country.
SimplySwitch give a guide of 25000kWh gas, and 5500kWh electricity for a 3 bed property. Now these figures are not fabricated;), they were provided by Energywatch now merged with others to form Consumer Focus. I entered their figures into energyhelpline. My Eon tariff came out at £1325, and UW at £1578 (19% or £253 extra).
So where are we then? I have entered average consumption figures for a 3 bed property, figures supplied by Consumer Focus (formally energywatch) and I arrive at exactly the same percentage difference which you find doubtful.0 -
Why do you say that? Carmine has spotted a deal that will save people money and put it up here for all to see.
This is a UW thread that relates to their energy, after all it is in the 'gas & electric' forum. Its not a thread to spam, simply to highlight the UW discount card. There are numerous forums in 'bargain buys' where carmine can post if he wishes to promote the discount card.0 -
Jimexbox,
This website is for money saving. This is a forum for money saving with UW. UW is a company that so happens to provide a lot more than just energy services. It is unique in that. It is not a forum to throw wild offensive accusations at distributors or other members. I suggest you refrain from offensive accusations against other forum members just merely to try to justify an argument.
For clarification the consumer focus (taken over from energywatch) standard profiles for low, standard, high energy usage measured in kWh
standard electricity meter
electricity 1650,3300,4950
gas 10000,20500,28000
economy 7 meter assuming 55% night time usage
electricity 3300,6600,9900
gas 10000,20500,28000
If you base your usage estimate on the simplyswitch guide based on the number of rooms in your house it will not be an accurate measure of your own usage. I suggest getting your energy bills out over the last year or two if you still have them to get a more accurate estimate of your actual usage over the next year. Some people have difficulty reading bills because they are not clear. Peoples usage can vary from year to year.
Also you can economise quite easily by taking steps to get items that use less energy. For instance a nintendo Wii only uses 19w while an xbox 360 uses about 130w to 180w depending on model. Economy light bulbs can also make a big difference to your electricity bill. Take steps to maintain your gas boiler before the winter, get someone qualified to do this. Make steps to insulate your house correctly.Quentin's Cashback Card?

Been away for a week. I see nothing has changed. Same old tit for tat arguments going round one endless circle.
Can't anyone thing of something better to discuss. At least try a different angle.0
