I always thought the one thread rule applied to 'gas and electric?

I think your find the one thread rule applies to gas and electric only . Threads on their other products and being a distributor have been started in other forums ,and have never been barred.

No doubt Abuse can confirm this.

I've just read the first page of this thread (post written by Martin) and it says that this a special area for the discussion of Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus).

It doesn't state that we can only discuss gas/electric.

This is a special area for the discussion of Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus). Unfortunately, it has become the topic for heated debate in the past and detracted from the main gas & electricity discussions. Therefore I would like to keep in restricted to just this discussion.

Where does it state no UW related threads can exist in other MSE forums? This thread is specifically for gas and electric discussion, not spam posts relating to the UW discount card. Martin specifically does not state that other threads in different MSE forums relating to different aspects of the UW business are banned.

It doesn't actually state just gas and electric though! Anyway that was written 4 years ago, things have changed quite alot since then. The only way it can be clarified either way is by Martin himself. Surely if people were breaching site rules somebody would have reported it (or maybe somebody has and nothings been done!) and the threads removed? I've seen this happen on other threads often. Until its stated otherwise I can't see a problem discussing all UW products on here.

I think these are the operative words, and, I do recall people being "told off'" for mentioning Utility Warehouse in other threads and forums.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

Well you may not see the problem, but there very clearly is a problem.

People want straightforward information as a starting point for any meaningful discussion on Money Saving Website.

Surely the most important issue for money saving on gas and electricity is the price of those products.

Agreed there are other considerations - the claimed good service and the cashcard - that might persuade some people(like yourself) that UW is a good proposition.

All the 'regulars' on this thread are aware that UW gas and electricity is extremely expensive and have just about the highest cost of any tariff in UK. Numerous examples of this have been given - including your own example of £9 a month - £108pa - on below average consumption.

The point of this thread is not for us 'regulars' to score points off each other but to inform those new readers of the true position

However the massed ranks of UW vested interests want to do everything they can to mask the fact that UW gas and electricity prices are just about the highest in UK, so we have endless distractions and disingenuous claims.

You seems quite a fan of Carmine. Well just examine his contributions to this thread - full of insults and plain disinformation.

Have you read his latest faux pas with regard to my annex?

He claimed firstly that:

Now this is what he does! Plucks some nonsensical arbitary figure out of the ether and puts it in this thread.
You either have to challenge the nonsense he writes(thus diverting the discussion away from UW - his aim of course) or he repeats and repeats the same rubbish he has invented and it is taken up by the fellow vested interests.

Now in this case I had never given my gas consumption so how he could state that I was losing £78 and paying 4000% more for my gas and electric, is something only a person like Carmine could possibly publish.

When I challenged him we got this response:

Again a typical response - a post laced with ridicule. He regularly states or implies that people are drunk or have a problem.

Finally he searched and found out that in fact he was(as usual) completely wrong and his stupidity had been exposed - so what is his response:

We went through exactly the same saga earlier in this thread. He stated time and again that I and a couple of million others had been fooled by BG for paying a premium and joining a fixed tariff; then BG had introduced a much cheaper internet tariff shortly afterwards.

When we couldn't be bothered to challenge that nonsense, it was repeated time and again and I was ridiculed for being an idiot and not admitting I had been conned by BG.

Finally - again it had to be spelt out to him that he was completely wrong and yet again it diverted this thread away from UW prices.

He was well named 'The Troll' by lots of posters, and that is EXACTLY what he is in this thread. The gas and electricity consumption of my annex is a perfect illustration of his art.

As I said in my previous post, if it was breaching the rules why hasn't it been removed yet? Until I see official information requesting that we don't post all information regarding UW then why do we need to stop. Most threads on this forum go off subject in same way or other. I see this as a thread regarding UW and all we are doing is discussing the various offers/utilities available. If any newcomers come on here and ask for advice they are simply told to do research and make up their own minds. Do you beleive that all newcomers aren't capable of doing this? Going of your constant copied and pasted thread it appears not!

I see you say I am a fan of Carmine, I do agree with some of what he says, not all though. You can't deny that there have been some pretty unpleasant stuff added by the anti UW though?

If you are that concerned post it as abuse and let the MSE team make up their own mind.
