    Happy trolling!

Your input is getting quite pitiful these days - sad, you used to be more inventive.

Subtitled: Sh*t, that b*gger Carmine has done me like a kipper AGAIN. :D

It's real easy - supply your gas consumption figure for the annex. You were more than happy to supply your leccy figure in order to fabricate the perceived 'saving' against the UW figure (which was based on the DUAL FUEL discount on your leccy usage and the UW figure in isolation INCLUDING the one-off club fee, btw.). If you don't want exposing like this, stop pulling stunts like that one which embarrassingly blow up in your face. Think before posting, in other words. It's not like the 'old days', I'm on your case now, lol.

You also have trotted out that implausible statement time and again, and as I have said many times, I simply do not believe you, I think you are mistaken.

Given your previous input on this thread, that assumption that you are mistaken is well justified, and you have given no indication of figures to support your case.

So unless you quote some figures and statistics for your customers, I do not intend to dignify your posts with any further response - except to say you know, I know, and everyone with any common sense knows that UW have some of the very highest prices for gas and electricity in UK.

Give me some figures and I will prove it!!!!!

LOL. As Michael/Marvin Lee Aday's alter ego once opined, you took the words right out of my mouth. :p

Cardew, if you try and tell people how to save money, expect your credentials to be questioned. Only problem for you is the questions don't have to be Paxman-like to reveal you are simply not qualified to give such advice. Of course, that doesn't stop you giving it, but one would hope the reader will gleen from your responses that they really must take it with a whole salt mine.

    Hmmm and your qualifications are???
For instance, there are still people on here (I encountered a Tesco veteran the other night who thought this) that the points are really worth 4x times value in deals. They just aren't.
Don't get me wrong, we use Tesco deals vouchers but we aren't so naive to believe they are worth 4x value in real terms

Then after having it spelt out to you that at least 2 of the deals ARE worth 4 times the value...
i also accept that the specific deal he has gone for would appear to be genuinely 4x times value in deals.

    Backpeddling much? ;)

So why should your advice be any more valid than Cardew's (or anyone elses for that matter?)
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • It's fairly simple, PC. I (and, actually so do you, to be fair) practice what I preach. You and I derive some extra benefit from our retail spending (we just sort of disagree on which is the best method. Makes no real difference, we both at least try). Cardew does no such thing. He's wasting money in other words. But then attempts to tell others where they are going wrong. It's not rocket science. You yourself also inadvertantly exposed the fact he's over-paying massively for his utilities on his annex so kudos for that (even though I don't think you meant to)

Bit like you singing UW praises for over a year now and only recently signing up to them?

For around a year you consistantly went on and on about how great UW are without actually signing up to them yourself, even before the "cashback" card you were saying how cheap they were but suspiciously not being a customer yourself. You definately werent practising what you preach for that 12 month period were you?

    Well let us see!

    We started off with Carmine stating that I was losing £78 a year, and paying 4,000% too much. This gem was based on the gas consumption I apparently posted on this thread a few days ago and ‘worryingly’ forgot – and then Carmine discovered I hadn’t actually posted my gas consumption;
never mind - facts were never his strong point.

Now 'Clairvoyant Carmine The Troll' has made the ludicrous assumption that I use 1kWh pa of gas to centrally heat a detached cottage all winter, as well as the occasional occupation. Based on that stupidity he now calculates that I have lost £85 a year or 1,617% (since 2005)

The irony is he believes I should be embarrassed!!

Carmine – you really have lost your touch. Even by your very weak standards on this thread, this latest saga is pathetic.

To cap it all you think I am going to allow your trolling to move the agenda from UW’s extremely high prices?

I was a committed 'rate tart' for that whole period, though. My argument has never been that UW are the cheapest for gas and electric in isolation, my argument has always been that, taken as a package of the 4 services, they are very competitive. And even before the advent of the cashback card they offered unique benefits. But there were no great problems with exit fees in those days so I was happy to keep taking the Big 6s money. A lot more difficult these days and, to be fair, I was tiring of it all. The cashback card came along and made UW an absolute no-brainer for me.

I've never ever said it's a no-brainer for everyone. It isn't. What i've never been able to get my head around is the anti-UW vitriol that raises its ugly head on here. If you read some of the comments on here you could run away with the idea that the energy industry is the shining beacon of light and righteousness in the UK industrial landscape and UW were besmirching its good name. This is THE most discredited industry in the country, no question. It's dominated by the big 6. But UW gets a disproportionate level of criticism on here, fact. They obviously aint perfect but this IS the energy industry. Give me your recommendation for an energy supplier.

There's a very simple solution here - supply your gas consumption figure. Why wouldn't you if it would embarrass me and not you?

Wow PC - you are being enlisted into the anti-Cardew camp.

Isn't that kinda sickenening? Almost as bad as his toe-curling "my ratio of 'thanks' is higher that yours" post of a few weeks ago!

    Pathetic or what!!!

I for one would vote for carmine in preference to cardew. No offence meant cardew. Carmine is the better man.
