Unless its a deliberate tactic to avoid the whole point of the thread Andrea. I hope you keep a close eye on this thread and should be PM'ing folk who cannot remain civil.0 -
Maybe the powers at uw should keep an eye on this thread and see the image their reps give the company.0

That's not what most of the posts are about. Most of the criticism is the supposedly high prices that everybody must pay for Utility Warehouse G & E. However, many people can save money by being with the company and the detractors refuse to accept this. I stated that I got a good deal by using the pre payment card and was challenged to produce my numbers. I did and showed that I paid less than I would to the quoted cheapest companies. Many people do not want to shop at the stores partnering the card making Utility Warehouse not for them. That's OK by me. That said, there are a LOT of people who shop at Sainsbury's etc and would benefit by being customers of Utility Warehouse and the likes of Quentin, Cardew, Jimexbox and yourself refuse to allow this choice. Most of us in this country have to get our G & E from somewhere and Utility Warehouse can work out the cheapest for a lot of us if we are prepared to accept certain restrictions on our shopping habits. I do not find said "restrictions' to be a bind at all as I shopped at Sainsbury's, Boots, Argos and some of the others before the pre payment card was rolled out. I spend enough in Sainsbury's alone to make being a UW customer worthwhile.Plushchris wrote: »The reason UW gets "a disproportionate level of criticism on here" is probably that UW gets a disproportionate level of distributers spamming the boards with "I've just found this really cheap supplier etc etc.. Has anyone heard of them?" type rubbish (you must have seen that, even you cant be that blinkered)
I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

A total of 16 million shopping transactions are processed in the 780 Sainsburys stores per week. Of course that doesn't mean 16 million individual shoppers but I reckon 8 million would be a conservative estimate. Not exactly a niche retailer.Call me Carmine....

Correct. And to find out one should be armed with figures that are as accurate as possible in order to effectively work out comparisons. Do not use somebody else's, do not use an average household, use your own.For any new readers find the discussion confusing and a little childish at times, the only question you need to ask yourself is do UW offer competitive energy tariffs?
I have found that the comparison sites are a good starting point but that one should use actual unit prices from the companies being looked at. I say this as I tried two of the sites using exactly the same figures and got two different recommendations. When I checked the unit costs and added in the Utility Warehouse pre payment card "rebate" from prices, UW came out best for me.The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Not only trying to tell members how they must spend their money, but, how "staff" should do their job too.I hope you keep a close eye on this thread and should be PM'ing folk who cannot remain civil.

I believe that the reps are mainly very reasonable when confronted with your repetitive and (I presume deliberately) misleading posts.Maybe the powers at uw should keep an eye on this thread and see the image their reps give the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Telecom Plus are coming out no1 on USwitch for me, and my personal spreadsheet agrees with USwitch. They've got good reviews on USwitch.
Is there anything I should know? I can't face reading this entire thread!Happy chappy0 -
What's your usage details, tom? I'm a big fan of the company but even I am surprised they come out top based on the 'bald' figures (my deal is made unbeatable by using the cashback card, for instance).Call me Carmine....
