day: 1439 units pa
night: 4369 units pa
ie: 75% night
Their night rate is 3.5 p/kWh compared with 4.7ish for other suppliers.
Day rate is 14.72 p/kWh, which is higher than the 10ish for other suppliers.
Standing charge is the big saving though, working out as 6p per day rathe than 20ish for others.Happy chappy0 -
To be fair, if you can get your domestic fuel at the same or similar price with UW compared to any of the Big 6 then it's a bit of a no-brainer IMO. Paper bill every month (based on actual usage if you wish), 100% UK-based call centre (I've never had to wait more than a few secs to be talking to an actual human!), lots of other initiatives to reduce your bill further etc. Only been a customer since 18/7 so early days but so far they are head and shouders above any of the Big 6 for customer care. Only issue for some is the price, they can't and won't compete with the Big 6 online, paperless deals but in my case i make use of the cashback card to bring the cost down to way below the cheapest online deal anyway.
Ps And absolutely NO tie-ins/exit fees/loss of discount on final bill T&Cs!Call me Carmine....

UW give you the option for either (actually both), tom. I get a paper bill that is replicated on my online account with them. You can opt out of paper billing but I haven't yet on account of it being a novelty i haven't experienced for a few years, lol.Call me Carmine....

Phew, got to the end.
A quick summary, correct me if I'm wrong.
Quentin still doesn't like UW and says so, using links to back up his emotional language. No mention is made of no-financial benefits of UW.
Vinny retaliates, but uses falsehoods about his competitors to make a point. At times he even misuses other UW customers facts for his own end. And enjoys pointing out how clever he is.
Cardew bites at one of Carmine's flames, but makes Carmine back down.
Carmine blusters around making a lot of noise, but doesn't actually say anything constructive.
Nige & Janine try to stay civil and on topic.
Bizarely Carmine and Vinny are the only people to mention 'Quentin's cashback card' for over a month -even going so far as to put it in their sig.
Jim has pointed out that the benefits of the cashback card apply just as much to a UW customer without G&E as to one with, meaning that the 'whole package' argument needs to be looked at again.
A few new posters appear but get frightened off - and Andrea is called in to keep us on topic.
From this I gather that UW offer a few things not matched by another supplier, but you need to be charged (not neccesarily pay) more for gas and electricity than many other tariffs on the market.
The question for any onlookers is
Are 24/7 free calls & the non-financial benefits of UW worth more to you than any (self calculated) difference between UW's tariffs and the cheapest onthe table?0 -

And you work for?? Oh yes, that company that charge their loyal punters exit fees to transfer to another tariff. Let's not have pious nonsense from someone deriving his livelihood from such a shower of %^%$.Call me Carmine....

A nerve? Nope, you've caused my B******-o-meter to blow up, that's why I was temporarily annoyed. I'll get it fixed in the morning just as long as you don't inflict any more damage on it tonight, SJ. Have a great night.
PS And aren't your 2 posts tonight flying in the face of MSEAndrea's advice? You're not normally this aggressive, it's slightly disconcerting. But far from scary. No bother. Have a great night, mate.Call me Carmine....

Sorry, didn't think first one was at all agressive (maybe I should have used a smiley?). Pretty much everyone on this thread has been saying the same things since the start of the year at least (except Jim, but he's been pretty much ignored).
I'm sure if you look back at your posts you'll see that you offer the 'lurker' very little constructive advice (although that may be my opnion).
Take it back, you did spend a day or so on the UW thread explaining how a different supplier delivers their discount.
Second post, guilty as charged. Are you telling me it wasn't spot on the money though?0 -

To be honest, you are clearly angling to get me to bite. You're normally slightly more subtle than that, had a bad day asking for those exit fees?I think you can join jimexbox on the ignore list. That way you will have to find some other form of evening entertainment. Go and wind up someone else.
