Should have seen that one coming...
I couldn't make out his badge properly, but as far as I am aware he would have to be to be employed in that role.
I'm sure each supplier does things differntly, but I've been told that BG (my employer) have stopped using paper contracts, and the customer speaks to an independent operator to complete a verbal contract once the sale has been agreed. This removes a few of the old cons ('sign to say I've been' etc), and makes sure the customer gets consistant, traceable information.
Can employees of other suppliers clear up how they manage this area?
The bloke featured is not yer average door knocker - he's the Area Sales Manager FGS! Is an EnergySure Accreditation badge worth owt, one has to ask? Did it stop this odious character from attempting to rip off an old lady?
Edit: question to the UW reps, are your personal contact details shown on the customer's agreement?Call me Carmine....

That's probably what this about that the UW could actually be honest enough to honour its own guarantees. Whether it has to other people I do not know. It did to me
You do harp on about nonsense don't you.

Nonsense???? - The worthless and discredited TVG is the cornerstone of UW's price pledge.
Do you seriously think it is acceptable for you, as a UW salesmen, to claim to save people money by selling them gas and electricity to:
1. Come on this forum and justify a UW guarantee by stating that UW give a discount to bring UW prices down to BG prices. Then claim that you don't know if that applies to the people to whom you sell gas and electricity.
2. State you don't have any interest in tariffs.
Any reputable company would suspend someone who admitted such ignorance and deception*. However given the tactics that UW appear to condone, I suppose such actions will have you well on the way to a getting the coveted mini.
* In case you challenge deception! Read your post about how you stated the TVG operates.0 -
I wonder if this bloke from your beloved BG knew the tariffs? If so, there must have been something seriously amiss with his calculator.:rolleyes:40. At 7:08pm on 14 Nov 2008, babs38 wrote:
its not just southern electric doing things like this. i had a salesman from british gas come to my door.caught me good. his sales pitch was 10% discount tracker, fixed untill 2010 and i only have to pay 17 fortnight for electric and the same for gas.five weeks later im now in debt with them i had a electric bill for 187 and a gas bill for 110. amazing for five weeks.dont be fooled like i was.

I have thanked you because your post is ridiculous and shows obvious very little understanding of what you have been told. As far as I am concerned as a customer of the Utility Warehouse the guarantee they put in place was honoured.

That's a stupid statement to start with. I made a misteke perhaps using the word discount - it could be interpreted in any way you wish. You obviously did. I should have used the word credit which it actuall is. But it doesn't alter the reason why.
As for the second part of your statement. The answer is of course it applies if the circumstances fit at the time. I don't delve into people personal energy consumption. THAT IS NOT MY JOB UNLESS THE CUSTOMER WOULD LIKE ME TO DO A CALCULATION TO WORK OUT ANY POSSIBLE SAVINGS. HAVE I MADE THAT CLEAR NOW.
Probably not.
This is about trust.
Do I trust you - no because I have never met you. You are just an individual sitting at a far away computer.
Do I trust the Utility Warehouse. Yes because both as a distributor and customer they have done for me what they said they would do. That's all that matters.
Ignorance and decption. What are you talking about you silly man. I haven't a clue what more you want from me. I have answered your question with honesty. I have no intention of divulging figures about my personal circumstances which is what you are really after. OIf you don't like it. Tough.0 -

I've realised now that people like Cardew and Quentin aren't really interested in showing people how they save money. They are simply interested in trying to either denigrate something they dislike intensely for theier own personal agenda (Quentin) and nitpick because their beloved traditional companies are found wanting and can't understand why ordinary people like you and me could possibly want to look elsewhere(Cardew). The latter to me doesn't seem to know when someone has answered his question or not.

Not good enough!
I don't care if you call the money(that you claim UW give back) a discount or a credit.
Are you still claiming that UW give money back to customers(credit/gift/donation - call it what you will) to bring UW prices down to BG levels to honour their TVG?
You sell the policies, you claim that is what UW do to honour the policies.0 -
Tough. If you haven't understood then I'm not going to spend any more time explaining it to you.
By the way, are you a professional complainer by any chance? By the number of posts that you and a certain other person have made it does strike me that you could possibly be one. I had never heard people existed until it was pointed out to my recently.
If you are perhaps I should stop dialoguing with you as well. You clearly have an ulterior motive.

How can you possibly show people how they save money.
You have very clearly demonstrated you haven't a clue about UW tariffs(not interested in tariffs!!) or their worthless guarantees.
All you do is pontificate like some religious zealot about having faith in the company.
You are obviously out of your depth!0 -
You last post is simply not worth answering. Your last sentence does appear to confirm my suspicions. I'm done with you.0

No I haven't understood!
Neither, I wager, has anyone else on this board.
Perhaps a fellow UW distributor can explain - or even Carmine - if UW give customers a discount/rebate/credit to honour their TVG.
How much time does it take to explain the TVG to your prospective customers?0
