And thank you for taking the time to shoe interest ask relevant questions.

I asked a relevant question - which you have failed to answer several times.
" Will you state if, as part of the TVG, UW give a discount to bring UW prices down to BG prices."
What could be more relevant!0 -
I thought I had answered that. I received a credit on bill and the statement was that it was given to me to ensure that the company complies with their guarantee. I can't remember whether it was for gas or electricity it was quite some time ago.0

Dear SwanJon
I haven't bottled out answering you. I have been doing my main business and have just come in.
Thanks for your partial response.
We have established that- you complete a contract with a customer on behalf of UW.
- you recive financial recompense for each time you do this (fitting many people's definition of salesman, but not yours (different strokes)
- if anyone else checks up on what you have told the customer to get that signature
- if you are EnergySure accredited
So, what is to stop me becoming a UW 'ID' and asking all and sundry to sign up, promising them the world? Especially if I pick my prospects as those least likely to make a big deal of any of my 'oversights'
In no way am I suggesting that any or all of UW 'IDs' would even contemplate doing this. I am only looking to find out how UW ensures that 'NM' is not open to abuse by unscrupulous characters.0 -
Genuine question to SJ as I really don't know the answer - are the Big 6s door knockers EnergySure accredited?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
As far as I amware, they all are. They should carry a card that cofirms this.
PS - Carmine, your randomizer seems broken, it keeps coming up with the sae Vin Diesel factiod every day!0 -

1) Thanks. Interesting.
2) I know, I'm going to change it to annual factoid - can't be arsed changing it every day/week/month etc.
I'm assuming the door knockers in this video are EnergySure accredited? Especially the odious character who appears at 5.00 in. I'm sure you know where i'm going with this...

You know full well you didn't answer that question.
In answer to a question on how the TVG operated. This is what you wrote:Because the company gave me back an extra discount to ensure that they kept their promise in line with their guarantee. The do the same with BT. So as far as I am concerned the guarantee wasn't worthless because I got extra money back on my bill. Is that clear enough for you.
I would have thought you might have worked that for yourself. Obviously not. That's the whole point of the guarantee.
How would I work it out? Nobody in the many claims made for UW have ever suggested that procedure before.
Now I am asking you again, do UW give people an extra discount to bring their prices down to BG levels? and for BT?
You are a UW distributor with a large team, surely you can answer a simple question like that?
I appreciate you are not aware of UW's tariffs, but you apparently know how the TVG works - don't you?
Again any UW rep input is welcome, don't be embarrassed to tell Keggs about the TVG.0 -
I have answered it and answered to the best of my knowledge. If you have interpreted my use of the word discount when in reality I should have used credit then that's a problem for you.
I repeat. I rceived from the UW at some point in the past (date not known) a credit to my bill. How this was worked out I have no idea. It was a credit which I was told on my bill was being given in order for the company to comply with its own guarantee. How much clearer than that can I be. I am not privy to how the company works anything out. That is not my job as an ID and as a customer is of no interest. All that matters to me is the company honoured its pledge to me. That's probably what this about that the UW could actually be honest enough to honour its own guarantees. Whether it has to other people I do not know. It did to me and that makes me a happy customer.
You expect too much Cardew. Answers to questions that are impossible for me to answer. I stated as a fact what I received as a credit to my bill which was stated at the time related to my energy consumption and how much I was paying and how much I should be paying and was told it related to the guarantee.
Repetition. If this answer does not satisfy you then tough. I cannot give you any other answer.
You do harp on about nonsense don't you.

Should have seen that one coming...
I couldn't make out his badge properly, but as far as I am aware he would have to be to be employed in that role.
I'm sure each supplier does things differntly, but I've been told that BG (my employer) have stopped using paper contracts, and the customer speaks to an independent operator to complete a verbal contract once the sale has been agreed. This removes a few of the old cons ('sign to say I've been' etc), and makes sure the customer gets consistant, traceable information.
Can employees of other suppliers clear up how they manage this area?0 -
Uw distributors are required to fill in a form in order for us to receive the initial customer gathering payment (equivalent I think to the customer sign up fee that say npower agents get). Potential customers themselves can phone a dedicated phone line but they must give the person at HQ an ID number so that it can be linked up with the relevant ID. The iD unfortunately doesn't get the customer gathering bonus but does receive the residual income.
As for door knocking there is no UW policy against (not aware of one anyway) but we are expected to take our ID card with us when doing energy whether it is door knowcking or via the normal routes for finding customers. That's a requirement I believe of OFGEM. I don't think many UW IDs door knock. This is not something that is taught at training - it wasn't when I've been on it. Which remnds me - I'll have to rebook as I am just picking up my UW business after a bit of a lull.
Hope this was understandable.
Are you a night owl like me?
