Typical of your posts!
Where have I said BT are a 'Best Buy'?
I have merely used BT as an example of a better package than UW.
Regular readers of this thread might just be aware that in the odd few hundred posts, carmine has issued a challenge;)
After reducing his electricity consumption(to lessen the impact of UW's very high prices) carmine has grudgingly conceded that UW gas and electricity would indeed cost £135 more than the cheapest tariff.
I have stated that to get the equivalent of my £31.73 BT package from UW you would have to pay more, and still not get the 350 mins wi-fi, security package texts etc etc.
There are of course far cheaper packages than BT as countless threads in the relevant section of MSE will testify.
So his challenge has been taken on, met and it uniquivocally demonstrated that UW's gas, electricity, phone and internet prices are higher than can be obtained elsewhere.
However it is true to say that you cannot get the Prospero magazine, so in that sense the UW package is unbeatable!0 -

. How much to leave his 'mega deal' after, say, 6 months? 12 x £31.93 = £380.76? Or 12 x £36.74 = 440.88? Plus, he may STILL have to return the Hub or get charged £44 extra!

Interesting to note that from the same thread as carmine quoted, was the following post.they reduce your bill by £5 if you renew, my contract recently ended and they reduced it from 24.99 to 19.99.
if you signed up when bt were offering BB option 3 for £19.99 then you would bt able to get it for £15
Of course Carmine stated that this discount is not available for 99.9999999999% of the Great British public.0 -

Care to withdraw that remark as well?
Ditto remark on paying commission to comparison websites?
So, if there are cheaper packages than BT...why aren't you using one?Call me Carmine....

Because I don't wish to! I believe what I get suits my purpose.
BT were only brought into this thread to prove conclusively that they offer far better packages than UW.
You issued the challenge, and haven't ceased repeating it in an almost demented fashion.
Your challenge has been accepted and you have been soundly beaten.
Your only hope is to use features of little consequence(the free Prospero magazine) in a futile attempt to save face.
You act very much like a stuttering Michael Howard under the withering and contemptuous onslaught of Jeremy Paxman.0 -
1. The router - it makes pefect business sense - the equipment sent to a member is on loan. If you want to call it a termination fee you can. So how the individual can be accused of lying is beyond me.
2. The energy gaurantee doesn't have to mention the price of every single b****y gas or electric tariff. That's ridiculous. As prices are constantly changing that's an more ridiculous suggestion to make. Most people aren't into specfics (unlike digital personalities like yourself). They couldn't care less. Just because it doesn't mention specific prices doesn't make the guarantee worthless.
3. Membership fee. How do you know it's never mentioned? Have you got some special ability no other human being has? I mention it. Some may not. It is stated clearly in black and white. I've never had anyone object to it. In fact, a small monthly membership for the enhanced benefits like redundancy cover for 6 months (especially useful these days) is in my view a very small price to pay.
There you go digi aka Lord Voldemort.

Im surprised the Prospero magazine hasn't got a cover price of £25, of course 'free' to UW members. What a bargain a 300 quid magazine for free, wow. That would be another great sale tool for the salesmen.
Carmine could add that figure to the challenge, it would be truly unbeatable then.:rotfl:0 -
1) Because I don't wish to! I believe what I get suits my purpose.
2) BT were only brought into this thread to prove conclusively that they offer far better packages than UW.
3) ou issued the challenge, and haven't ceased repeating it in an almost demented fashion.
4) Your challenge has been accepted and you have been soundly beaten.
5) Your only hope is to use features of little consequence(the free Prospero magazine) in a futile attempt to save face.
6) You act very much like a stuttering Michael Howard under the withering and contemptuous onslaught of Jeremy Paxman.
1) Which does beg the question, err, what are you arguing about price on here for?
2) Where they and do they? Again, I must have missed this conclusive proof that has been shown on here. Was it shown on your TV?
3) Maybe if someone could beat it I wouldn't feel the need to keep repeating it...
4) Link please. How can we take anything you claim seriously when in your World French & Saunders appear on TV advertising UW most nights (I note you never reply to this, I would imagine even you are embarrassed about this one.)
5) I've already made it entirely plain we can take Prospero Mag out of the equation (on numerous occasions). Hell, I've even felt the need to take the huge cashback discount out as well. If you want to see examples of pathetic condition-setting have a look at your 200 texts package.
6) Why, thank you. I'll show the readers a REAL example of Michael Howard-type stuttering by asking you this question:
Did you REALLY believe you'd seen French & Saunders advertising UW on TV most nights or did you just get carried away?Call me Carmine....
