UW prices not on the agenda?

Of course they are! But i don't make it my business to engage in conversation with people under the influence. Speak to you tomorrow. Sleep tight.

OK let us say it once more. Your proposed deal can be bettered in hundreds of ways; EON and BT being just one example.

UW prices for gas and electricity are amongst the highest available in UK. Look on any comparison website for proof!!

Now have you understood that, I mean really really understood that?

Or would you like it repeated?;)

    Dear Cardew

Just to be repetitive on behalf of Carmine and to reduce the temperature, he has not argued that there are other providers for gas and electricity that are less than the UW numbers he is using in his example. What he has requested (incessantly :rotfl:) is to have his potential "complete package" price reviewed and hopefully beaten. I believe that if a "better value" package of services could be demonstrated to him he would be very happy to go with it.

There have been suggested ways that various elements can be bettered, however, up to now, nobody has put this all together and demonstrated that the overall price is more competitive. I believe he will continue to request this until the cows come home or a better package appears. Could somebody please please put us all out of our misery and find him one or admit defeat and move on.

    Thank you

Or what about the form you give out to people to fill in at garden parties/fetes etc where they are given a chance to win a bottle of champagne.

Needless to say, the most important part of the form is for the prospect to give in their phone number. But why does the form ask you to answer yes or no to the question "Do you want the cheapest gas and electricity?".

See page 5 of your directors on line training tutorial:

    http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/downloads/guesswin.pdf

You see no deceit there? Even though uw cannot and does not attempt to provide the cheapest gas/electricity?

    Dear Quentin

Yet again you have gone "under cover" into a UW distributor support site and selected another link and used it to demonstrate "deceit". To provide a factual response to this, which, quite honestly, you don't deserve, this form that you have gleefully found was added to the site in May 2005. At the time the tutorial was produced, Utility Warehouse probably did provide the cheapest Gas and Electricity (I would be more assertive and state that they did provide the cheapest, but I am trying to be less provocative than some).

If you were a "genuine" UW distributor you would either know or find out what information was current and what information was out of date.

If you insist on continuing this random "quoting" of what you like to call UW "lies and deceit", then it is going to become more and more difficult to maintain the curtesy on this forum that most of us try to achieve.

    Thank you

Certainly no 'heat' from my end of the electronic link.

Carmine has been told repeatedly that there are far better value gas, electricity, phone and Broadband packages than his package.

I am stating categorically that the EON/BT package is far better and cheaper. It has been demonstrated to him repeatedly! chapter and verse of the EON gas and electricity package and BT package.

However, we are all fully aware that there are unique aspects of the UW package, like the Prospero magazine, that will enable him to obfuscate and say his package can't be matched. So be it - the Prospero magazine is his trump card.

The challenge, like Carmine, has absolutely no credibility.

So I am saying that EON/BT is a far better deal - challenge accepted and beaten.

However as you quite rightly say, he will keep repeating endlessly 'his challenge' as a distraction.

I've even had to disregard the projected FOUR HUNDRED AND THIRTY THREE POUNDS DISCOUNT from the cashback card to tempt you into having a go at beating my projected deal. It really is pathetic.

    Hi Cardew

OK, lets have a look at that scenario.............

    EON Gas & Electricity £ 1,003 pa
    UW Gas & Electricity £ 1,120 pa
    Difference - Costing £ 117

    BT 24mb Broadband - not available ?

Cheapest nearest alternative Be Unlimited ?

    Be Unlimited (24mb) £17.50 a month
    BT Landline £11.25 a month
    BT Anytime £ 4.95 a month
    Total £33.70 a month - £404 a year

    UW - LLU Broadband £19.99 a month
    Silver Membership £ 2.30 a month
    Total £22.31 a month - £268 a year

    Difference - Saving £ 136

    Net Saving £ 19 a year

This is without the potential savings from the cashcard - say 50% of estimate at £400 a month = £20 a month discount at 5% = £ 200+ a year (net of setup and ongoing charges).

That's my best effort, so I give up - I can't find an equivalent package to beat it. :(

I have already asked carmine to remove the 24mb on his challenge, or at least modify his claim due to the fact that his line attenuation is high, hence the maximum broadband speed he would be able to achieve would be 5-6mb, even lower using ASDL as opposed to the newer ASDL2+

It is disingenuous to post a challenge that you cannot even meet yourself.

Crikey, owt else you'd like me to remove, jimexbox?:D Cardew's BT package is only available to people who are renewing and dithering about committing to ANOTHER 18 months but I've allowed him to use THAT figure (it would cost me £36.74, I've even rang them and checked, lol) . So that's £60 a year I'm 'allowing' him but still he struggles. The amazing thing here is the fact that you people have been saying that UW gas and electricity is expensive and their telecoms products are also expensive. One intrepid poster has had the crazy idea of putting them together and posting the result and asking if any of you people can get me a better deal for the wonga. Given what you've said before, this surely must be a piece of cake for you . So far, all I've had are requests to modify my proposed deal before you can have a go (not to mention one suggestion that could get some people the sack). It's all rather funny. I've even had to disregard the massive projected cash back because I realise that would make it entirely impossible. My figures are figures that every potential customer can get, no special offers, loyalty bonuses etc etc. It should make it easier to do a straight comparison.

Plus Cardew's 'attempt' includes a product that is fixed until June 2010 with a £30 penalty for leaving before that date (would YOU fix your G&E prices at the moment?) and a 'special offer' price he received from BT for committing himself for another 18 months to a service that gets worse user reviews than Tiscali. And still it's no cheaper! My UW deal includes no min contract terms but a £50 fee payable if I leave the phone/BB service within 12 months. Plus, I believe I may have to return the router to UW (it looks like Cardew may have to return his hub if leaves early also). I genuinely would have thought this would be very very easy given what you've all been claiming. It's proving challenging, though, isn't it? And that's without the massive discount from the cashback card (our current spending at Sainsburys alone would equate to £25 per month off the bill so that's another £300 per year to take off, more when Xmas comes around.). For me (and that's what I've always stated, the deal is for me, please try and find me a better one) it would appear absolutely unbeatable. No?

The Be package without the 12 month contract (3 months notice required) costs £20 per month and there is a £24 connection charge. :D Granted it IS unlimited, though. TBB meter is telling me we use betwen 28gb and 34gb per month presently so 40GB looks ideal. Of course with Cardew's BT deal we would have to add another £4 per month (taking it to over £40/mth ) unless we wanted big surcharges.

You would be better off with BeValue, £13.50 a month, no connection fee. 8mb download speed which still utilises ASDL2+ so you will get the fastest speed from your line and no download limit.

12 month contract, but if you quote '3MONTHSFREE' you get 3 months free!! clicky
