That is exactly the tactic employed to make the challenge a nonsense!
Be it the Prospero magazine or the(unachievable) up to 24mB broadband you use to restrict any competition.
The average speed achievable in UK is 3.6mb so even up to 8mB is academic.
Even if you have 24mB, as I can get on cable in the USA, it makes very little difference to the download speeds on many many sites.
Little point in having a hose capable of handling 1000 gallons an hour if the pump it is connected to can only deliver 100 gallons an hour.
The EON/BT package is far superior and cheaper than the UW equivalent!

Hi Cardew
I can make statements in bold as well, but where is the comparison to justify the statement? Compare the packages and show the numbers if that is the case. I have tried, using the data provided.
Thanks

You can't even recognise the deceit.

A Cost Effective Way To Get a Never Ending Stream of Customers and Referrals
The deceit demonstrated in this tutorial was in asking people filling it out:
Would you like the UK’s CHEAPEST domestic gas and electricity?
(The bold emphasis on "cheapest" was put there by "2 of the nicest people you have ever met", not me)
So how do you think these "nice" UW people were going to show the UW could help out on this then?

OK, one last try - at the time the tutorial was written, Utility Warehouse provided the cheapest domestic Gas and Electricity in the UK, therefore there was no deceit at the time of production.
Does this make it clear enough?Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Your reply is very bold!
And of course unbelievable.
In that thread you got closed down there is a 2005 reference to the ASA about such ridiculous, false and misleading claims! And an apology from the UW rep who made the claim.

Also another MSE thread for you to peruse from that era, showing uw deceitful claims have been going on all these years:

As posted, there is always deceit when the UW claims it will give you the cheapest gas and electricity!
And you ignore all the deceit we see in great gary's meeting with the gullible spanish teachers:
http://www.networkerplus.co.uk/videos/signing-customers.html
If you can be bothered to watch, note that gary the great explains away why uw don't feature highly on switching websites. He explains that is because uw don't pay the likes of uswitch for referrals. The deceit is glaring - uw doesn't feature "highly" because of its expense, which we all know. But your prospects don't expect to be lied to by the man from uw their friend has recommended to them, and accept whatever you tell them. Note he then goes on to tell them that "our company is the cheapest provider for gas and electricity, so its nice to have this sort of credibility". The gullibles nod enthusiastically!0 -

I wonder why no switching site mentions the UW cashback card?We get loads of details on the Big 6 rivals regarding Tesco clubcard points, nectar points and the rest of the superfluous stuff. Even UWs worst critic would surely have to concede that, for certain swathes of the GBP, it can make the UW bill cheaper than any other. So why no mention, I wonder? Let me ponder this one for a nano-second.

Mike, surely even you know when Cardew puts something in bold it HAS to be correct. The man is a legend in his own Wireless (returnable?) Hub...
I'm still absolutely amazed at the stuff being blown out the detractors' derrieres when it comes to beating my proposed deal. Come on, chaps, you've already stated as fact that UW provide expensive gas and electric AND expensive telecoms. I've rather stupidly, on the surface, ADDED THEM TOGETHER  so surely that should compound their 'expensiveness' (is that even a word? - Ed) compared to the very cheapest on the market but, Hell, no, if your reactions are anything to go on, something magical and mystical has happened. You've been allowed online G&E tariffs with long lock-in periods/fixed price products/EXIT FEES etc, similarly 'special offer' telecoms packages with in most cases long lockins (Cardew's, for instance, locks him in for a min of 18 months) not to mention me having to disregard the huge cashback discounts but still nothing's happening. It's all a bit surprising. Yes?
Call me Carmine....

Evidence? The ASA rulings that I can find refer to complaints being upheld as Telecomplus didn't provide information.Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught - Sir Winston Churchill0 -

Yes. Complaints of false/misleading advertising were upheld as they couldn't evidence their claim.
(Telecomplus and Utility Warehouse are one and the same!)
And note the apology from the uw rep - icefall -:Apologies for the misleading sentence0 -
Carmine has been told repeatedly that there are far better value gas, electricity, phone and Broadband packages than his package.
I am stating categorically that the EON/BT package is far better and cheaper. It has been demonstrated to him repeatedly! chapter and verse of the EON gas and electricity package and BT package.
You keep saying that Utility Warehouse are very expensive, although you do not quote figures that can be either agreed with or challenged. I have never said they are the cheapest per unit. What I have said is that Utility Warehouse can work out best value for a number of people, as they do for me. Utility Warehouse show their unit costs and fees on the web site for all to check. There are several companies who charge more per unit, and, these same companies have deals that are less per unit. I suggest that these are the ones who are conning the public.
I am an Independent Distributor with Utility Warehouse and any opinions expressed here are my own and may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.
