You see no deceit there? Even though uw cannot and does not attempt to provide the cheapest gas/electricity?
They do provide the cheapest electricity! Of course UW rule out every tarrif that is actually cheaper, literally dozens. Ive already indicated in the past that Im the best footballer on the planet. Obviously Ive used methods similar to UW to rule out every person between the ages of 7 and 75. Its incredible what you can achieve through judicious use of 'small print'.0 -
To the last 2 posts there is only one word to describe both and that word is...wait for it
HUMBUG!
Lord Voldemort - the post wasn't ust one sentence. Can I suggest you read the rest.

To answer your 2 ridiculous questions. The answer is:
1. No.
2. No.
Hope that helps you Quentin.

Am I lying then?
UW specifically rule out dual fuel and online tariff even thought the vast majority of their customers choose dual fuel. Do you not find that odd? Plus in a training video kindly posted by Quentin, the UW salesman pushed online billing, to save the environment, laughable I know. So UW are happy to exclude online tariffs, then push online billing. What a great triple guarantee that is, in effect it guarantees nothing.0 -
@ Keggs
You see my reasoned questions (backed up with evidence) that there is deceit behind the uw way of working as "ridiculous"?
I wonder why you are a member here and bother posting, bearing in mind that elsewhere on the net via the uw reps forum you have posted very detrimental remarks about this website in general, and MSE Martin in particular:He strikes me as someone who thinks he knows it all but in fact knows nothing. He doesn't like UW but like most people who espouse his views they have a lot to learn.0 -
Didn't Martin have Tiscali Broadband as a 'Best Buy' not so long ago? Like I have said on numerous occasions Martin's great but he certainly aint right all the time. I've also criticised him for his 'CAP CAP CAP' rant on gmtv and I know many others have criticised his recommending of the various Icelandic banks as a great place to deposit your wonga :eek: . I wasn't aware you had to rate the ability of the owner to post on his/her website? Is that a Quentin Rule?
Edit: I have to say I am slightly disappointed in Martin when it comes to UW. As I (and others) have demonstrtaed it *can* be the absolute cheapest utility provider for, I'm assuming, potentially millions of people (I'm not unique, I'm sure) I'm surprised he's not more pro-active in his approach to discussing the company. Granted there may be more 'work' involved in getting the best price but what some people would call 'convoluted ways' to save money have never put him off in the past. There are still loads of people, I would imagine, who join these dodgy mobile cashback schemes where you have to send in your 3rd, 7th, 11th bills in or whatever in order to (hopefully!) get a cheque in the post so I'm assuming paying for your stuff on one card instead of another isn't exactly the biggest inconvenience ever. It's a funny old World..Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Yes
I agree Quentin. I don't think much of Martin 'the so money savings expert' so called expert advice. He even admitted getting it wrong about the Utility Warehouse not to mention capping.
So I won't be looking for his advice on much.
As for posting here - it's an open forum so what's your problem. I don't contribute much noawadays anyway - just thought I'd have a bit of fun.
As for this ridiculous concentration on rates I haven't a clue what rates are or who does what and when. What matters is the big picture not the minutiae.

We know from your training videos you are taught not to get involved with the detail, and to "keep it simple".
It is the way:
eg: you keep the worthless "guarantee" simple, (by not pointing out it doesn't actually guarantee anything in relation to prices, despite being named a "price guarantee")
or: the way we have seen the monthly membership fee seems never mentioned at all when you are signing up gullibles.
or: the way your colleagues happily tell downright lies which seem beneficial to the prospect, but won't come to pass (eg the free wireless router, which in fact is only on loan and must be returned when leaving) The video presentation blatantly lies about it, saying you give a free router, which if you leave during the initial 12 months the only penalty is a £50 payment to cover the router. In fact the £50 is an early termination fee, and the router must also be returned. etc etc

A small price to pay in relation to Cardew's 'best buy' outfit
. How much to leave his 'mega deal' after, say, 6 months? 12 x £31.93 = £380.76? Or 12 x £36.74 = 440.88? Plus, he may STILL have to return the Hub or get charged £44 extra!

Thanked 12 Times in 8 Posts Changes to BT BB Cease Charges
My jaw dropped to read that BT will apply a cease charge when you cancel your broadband whether you are in minimim contract OR NOT when you choose to stop bb altogether or do not use the regular mac code process.
And the charge is increasing to £25 in June. Now I am with 2 providers right now - bt and virgin and I was going to cease BT in October when my contract ends; now it makes no difference whether I end the contract NOW or wait until October. Actually, I'd SAVE money by cancelling now as the current cancellation is just over £18
Now it also sez that they may charge me £44 for my hub; but i've had my hub 4 years now and the only reason I'm back in a minimum contract period was because I moved home and they put me back on one (which seems damn unfair imo) - so I wondered if they really DO levy the charge on old hubs like mine?
Anyways, it seems to me that if you're thinking of ending the broadband to reduce your monthy outgoings and your not in contract period, you'd best do it now before this new change comes into effect.
