You have come to the wrong place if you want an unbiased, objective view.

What is wrong with the MSE Martin view I already quoted in post #10276?

    Hi niksyg

You have come to the wrong place if you want an unbiased, objective view.:D

Listen to the UW guy and decide if it is right for you. Compare your current bills with UW and look at the pros and cons. If the ID is good, he will give you an honest assessment, if not, then you can always come back here for some lively comments.

    Good luck

    Mike

PS I am a UW ID

Why would any sensible person compare their current bill with UW?

They should really use the many comparison sites to find the best deal available:

Price Comparisons with cashback/wine: Energyhelpline* |Energylinx* | EnergyShop* | Moneysupermarket* | UK Power* | uSwitch*

You don't always get cashback with price comparision web-sites! I switched back in Oct and I'm still waiting for my £60.00, I've contacted them several times and each time I'm told they have no record of my switch, I've given up the hope of ever getting it!!

Most switchers do get their cashback when switching.

I was more concerned about the rather biased advice given by Mike by the Sea after he had stated "You have come to the wrong place if you want an unbiased, objective view" he then advised to "compare your current bills with UW" - a typical UW sales tactic!

    Hi Quentin

I think that MSE Martin view is fine as far as it goes, but, unfortunately, it is not yet possible to compare like with like on the comparison websites. If, for example, you were to compare the cost of home phone and broadband in isolation, this would not provide a direct comparison. Again, if you compared mobile in isolation it would not provide a direct comparison. If MSE Martin included these "facts" in the appraisal and mentioned the UW card etc., then it would be a useful view. I have yet to see the UW card mentioned in any MSE reviews. I may have missed it, but, as has been mentioned on this thread, it can be, in certain circumstances, a useful additional money-saver.

Bearing in mind that MSE prevented you running your "charity" event to get us to sign up to uw with you, when you refused to post what you were going to make out of it, no wonder you don't feel Martin's view on UW is "useful"!

    Reported as abuse.

    How is this abuse?

    Here is the thread:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/2200593#Comment_2200593

The abuse was yours! You abused the referrer's board by posting your "special offer" to us to both "save" and help your charity.

Despite being asked by the Board Guide to tell us how we would save, and to provide non affiliate links, you refused. This resulted in the thread being closed and uw reps being confined to this thread only to discuss the uw!

(And if you feel that post is abuse, wonder why you requote it in full? And you make your first post here for 5 months just to diss MSE Martin's opinion on UW then take umbrage at the response - or have you another agenda over this?)

The new mobile tariffs certainly look interesting (less than half of what i'm paying now). My current mobile deal runs out next month so will be looking for a new one. Don't want to replace my handset, so SIM only seems the way to go. Are there any cheaper than £12 for 300 texts/minutes?

As you are obviously keen to discuss other UW services, the mobile Flex 300 for £12/month SIM only deal is easily beaten!
(Flex = Any combination of texts and minutes) e.g. 150 mins + 150 texts.

A real money saver can get 300 minutes + unlimited texts + unlimited own network calls for £10/month.
