I am aware of the membership fee but the £6.00 Standing charge plus membership is still less than the £10.00 plus vat charged by EDF.
I fail to see how my neighbours have misled me.
What would they have to gain?0 -
Can you provide a link to ascertain there is no connection charge to the national grid or that it is included in the tier 1 cost?

The standing charge is less, however you need to look at the total cost.
They have done this in ignorance, not on purpose!
As has already been explained, the standing charge is included in the tier 1 unit costs.
For very low users this can work out to your advantage (if you use little or no energy during a billing period, with daily standing charge tariffs you still pay the full standing charge, but with tariffs that charge by way of tier 1 units, you only pay if you use the units up).0 -
Thanks for the link, I will contact them tomorrow to see if there is a connection charge to the national grid and will let you know0 -

Enter your details in any comparison website - including those at the top of this page and you will confirm the price I quoted from the Which website.

Quoted by EDF
''GAS TRANSPORTATION CHARGE''
''As your home is not directly connected to the National Grid Gas pipeline network, your gas charges will be subject to an additional daily charge''
My neighbour who works for Eon has said they all charge for this but I will ask tomorrow
Thanks0 -
On the subject of Tier1 and Tier 2 prices, the £368.03 for Scottish Power assumes you will use all your gas 1,143 tier 1 kWh every quarter.
With your very low gas consumption of 6,300kWh pa it is almost certain that in the two summer quarters you will use less than 1143 kWh.
This means that your annual bill will be even cheaper.0 -
According to Scottish Gas I can save £36 per year but only if I pay in advance0
