I thought some members had actually been banned from posting on here as it went so quiet! I think they have been 'laying low' for a while as they know they were on the verge of having their posting privilages removed due to repeating the same old argument, some even posting the same information everyday near enough!! Its only a matter of time until it all starts again though!
You're probably right. I tried to get someone to post facts, which NigelWick has done, so thanks to him. Changes have clearly been made to try to freshen things up and address some of the concerns people had made about services. Sadly, some already want to twist the facts to try to justify their anti-UW stance. Some of the services clearly haven't even been launched yet!
If this thread returns to the state it was in before the last warning, some people are going to disappear for good, or the thread will be pulled. The last time the thread was locked, I warned them about it here. Before the last official warning, I again posted that it was likely. They don't take me seriously. Maybe they should start.0 -

Nigewick is a UW rep, yet has still managed to mislead us by "spinning" the changes to include an extra hour off peak in the UW telephone changes.
This is not true and seems deliberately misleading. The UW off peak period has always started at 6.00 pm!
Anyone can post here and we are warned about this, but when someone posts as a company rep, we should be able to expect the company spam posted to be accurate!
.......And of course you aren't taken too seiously. Why should we take an admitted WUM with any seriousness?0 -

I was just saying they havent addressed the biggest concern people have with their services - the outrageously high prices they charge for gas and electricity.
Adjusting the membership fee etc. wont make a major difference to peoples bills, its just a marketing ploy to make it look like they are doing something.
This is a criticism that can be leveled at all of the suppliers, not just UW, they all have these little "refreshers" (or whatever you want to call it) now and then to their policies/benefits, not usually making a major difference to peoples pockets.
The only difference is all the other suppliers prices are lower in the first place.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Well, I suppose you just vote with your feet and don't buy the energy. Marketing is a complicated game and some are good at it, some aren't. I haven't seen some of the information officially from them yet that people have posted here, so i'll reserve judgement at the moment. I know my line rental has gone up slightly, so that's a change I don't particularly enjoy, but if costs have increased then it's understandable. Membership level won't be affected for existing customers as far as I know.
As for prices overall, then like I say, their business model and underlying costs will dictate the prices they set for their products. It's then up to people to make up their own mind to investigate whether paying the prices is worth it for them.0 -
Previously my gas and electricity was with EDF then changed to EON to save money but only substantially saved money when signed up to Utility Warehouse.I was willing to see how they treated customers although their rates were higher than others.
Imagine my surprise when my bills were lower(I live in a new house) as the connection charge to the national grid were a third of the daily charge of the major suppliers.
Very happy with UW

I am pleased that you are at present a satisfied customer. Your message just goes to show that Utility Warehouse will suit some people.
As you work for uw as an independent rep, maybe you can explain this extraordinary situation being reported here (to your pleasure we see!)
eg. what does this mean:mochyn88 wrote:the connection charge to the national grid were a third of the daily charge of the major suppliers.0 -

If you go on other threads on MSE you will find loads of posts by people who swear blind that strapping a £3 magnet to the gas/oil supply to their CH boiler, or the petrol/diesel pipes on their car, reduces fuel consumption by 30% or more.
They are thanked regularly by agents who are happy they are satisfied.
It is an undoubted fact that UW gas and electricity is just about the most expensive in UK - usually 30% more expensive, and £hundreds more than the cheapest tariffs.
If mochyn88 is happy with that situation, then bully for him! However perhaps, on a money saving website, he could elaborate.0
