The £50 early termination charge for Broadband and Broadcall will be replaced by a £10 administration fee.

Only because Utility Warehouse were in breach of Ofcom guidance on early termination charges.

I saw that UW gas prices changed on 01 April 2010.

    Any information on that change?

The new prices are on their site https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/home/energy/

Note if you want paper billing the membership fee has been increased see Niges recent post. But you also get freephone customer service/technical support and accidental death cover for the £2.50 a month..

Online Membership to be £1.50 per month and will have no paper bill.

Value Membership will be £2.50 per month including paper bills, freephone customer services, freephone technical support and free accidental death cover.

Premium Membership will be £3.50 per month includes Value Membership stuff, doubling the level of accidental death cover and adds redundancy cover.

It doesn't say on the blurb I've seen but I suspect VAT will need to be added to these prices.

The free (included in the price) evening calls will start at 18:00 instead of 19:00.

Broadcall customers who need a new line (LLU only) can get one installed for £69.99 (plus VAT?).

The £50 early termination charge for Broadband and Broadcall will be replaced by a £10 administration fee.

There will be new (lower hopefully) mobile tariffs. The bumph says up to 85% cheaper than the other main networks for standard calls. I have not checked any figures.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

Thanks for that. Seems like they're trying to refresh things and maybe address some criticisms.

Would have thought they would put the prices of gas and electric down if they wanted to address criticisms...

To be fair to UW! With their new prices, for the average user(20,500kWh gas/3,300kWh Elect) UW are now 'only' 31.97% more expensive than the cheapest tariff for my area.
  • Without getting back into the tit for tat stuff, their prices will be set to support their chosen business structure. Unless you know how to run a company at a loss?

Surely by now charging "members" more than £35 a year to get their USP of a paper single bill will engender much more criticism than "refreshment".

Their Evening rate already starts at 6pm and has been like that for some considerable time.So nothing new there !!

If you took their £69.99 connection offer and then decided to leave them, they will disconnect your line, and you will need to get a new line installed by another supplier.
  • Only a matter of time before the usual suspects started to have a pop, because they just can't help themselves. :)

I said some criticisms, not all criticisms.
