  • Interesting. I haven't received this month's bill yet, but I'm glad I've kept an eye on this thread. Don't telecoms companies usually inform customers first? I know it's less than £1 a month, but still...

    Hi EssexMum,

There is a section on the April bill which explains about the price increase. Not sure if you realise or if it would be easier but you can get your bill e-mailed to you, it arrives earlier than by post, I received my latest bill last Thursday via e-mail and have opted to not receive any info by post!

Thanks Jannine I hadn't looked into online billing with UW. It makes sense. Got my april bill in today's post, which as you say, has a written explanation of the price rises. Broadcall appears to be unaffected anyway!:)
  • Yes, there's actually a detailed summary of changes printed on the bill this month. We also won't pay for April's phone usage/rental until the end of May.
  • Got an email today from Utility Warehouse saying that the omission of my line rental charges for March was an error on their part, and that they'll show it on my next bill, payable at the end of May.

Is this right? Are there any other changes you know about? New card partners are welcome but what are they doing to the fee?

I saw that UW gas prices changed on 01 April 2010.

    Any information on that change?

Online Membership to be £1.50 per month and will have no paper bill.

Value Membership will be £2.50 per month including paper bills, freephone customer services, freephone technical support and free accidental death cover.

Premium Membership will be £3.50 per month includes Value Membership stuff, doubling the level of accidental death cover and adds redundancy cover.

It doesn't say on the blurb I've seen but I suspect VAT will need to be added to these prices.

The free (included in the price) evening calls will start at 18:00 instead of 19:00.

Broadcall customers who need a new line (LLU only) can get one installed for £69.99 (plus VAT?).

The £50 early termination charge for Broadband and Broadcall will be replaced by a £10 administration fee.

There will be new (lower hopefully) mobile tariffs. The bumph says up to 85% cheaper than the other main networks for standard calls. I have not checked any figures.
