Seems like Cardew doesn't want to see that here, but thinks that if he keeps repeating himself enough times, people will believe it all.
How does it allow "direct comparison of pence per kilowatt hour"?
Apart from the monthly UW club membership fee, standard and high users of UW pay a further monthly standard charge of up to £4 for gas and £9.75 for electricity(plus VAT)
The only reason you want to exclude dual fuel and direct debit discounts etc, is because UW don't give them.
To "simplify the comparison" is very very easy - just enter consumption into any of the comparison websites(use WHICH if you want!!) and it will show you exactly how much more UW charge than all the other companies.
You again come back to this thread with a disingenous attempt to portray UW prices as 'reasonable', when it is painfully obvious that they are the highest in UK and £hundreds more than the cheapest.
As for not being a UW salesman. Well you apparently were not a UW customer - then you let slip you had a UW card; now you just have their telephony package. Mmmm.0 -

You are absolutely correct I don't like to see UW salesmen on this website trying to fool people about UW prices.
You are also correct that I hope, by constant repetition, people - especially new readers - will find out the truth about UW's high prices. In the spirit of Money Saving, I hope this message will deter people from joining UW and existing UW customers to consider their position.
So why shouldn't people believe me? If my facts are incorrect, why not explain to them where you feel they are wrong?0 -
Instead of attempting armchair psychiatry, why don’t you address the issue of UW prices.
Are my figures above correct or not?0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »Your blinkered bias will never allow you to post anything sensible here worth reading.
Your admission that you come into this forum just to wind us all up says it all!0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »Your figures aren't relevant to me, however MY figures indicate that gas prices are reasonably competitve FOR ME, whereas electricity prices are not. I said that further up the thread, but you chose to ignore it
You can clarify this easily by posting what the annual cost for DF was with the cheapest tariff, compared to the single scheme you quoted above.0 -
Yes your cost figures are invalid as you try to present them, there is so much spin applied to them that Alastair Campbell would blush.
The important issue is the price people pay; not how you can exclude discounts(which UW don't give)
It has already been worked out, for your very low consumption, you will pay 36% more with UW than the cheapest tariff in the Midlands area. Give your area and we will gladly work out how much extra UW would charge.
As you have 'delved into it' give chapter and verse of your investigations.
The facts are indisputable; confirmed with any comparison website, that UW charge the highest gas and electricity prices in UK. Not just for 'Mr Average' but low and high users.
The vast majority of people will pay £hundreds more for their gas and electricity.
Do you honestly think that people find it plausible when you say you are not a UW salesman - yet scores of posts all desperately trying(and failing) to find a way to present UW in a good light.
At first you claimed not to be a UW customer,Uptomyeyeballs:
Not even a customer, let alone a rep. No affiliation at all. None of my my family are members of UW and I don't subscribe to Which? In fact, I couldn't be more independent.
but said you only came on this thread to 'wind people up'. Then you let slip you had a UW cashcard, so now you admit to being a UW customer for telephony only; really?
P.S. Keggs will be along soon to thank you!!0 -
Nothing about prices again.
Either yours or for anyone. You make generalised claims, but asking you to support them is apparently arrogant!
I say that your consumption will cost 36% more with UW in the Midlands, in other areas it will be of the same order. Now why not prove me wrong?
You had no connection - not a customer - with UW, now it transpires you are a customer after all!! However not, of course, a salesman!!!
If you are not a UW salesman, why are you so upset when they are shown to be so expensive?
Stick to some facts - and keep your version of 'facts' consistent.0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »As stated above, to get a true comparison of cost per kWh of the actual energy, DF discounts cannot be included.
UW discounts are not allowed to be included here though are they, as they're seen to need 'jumping through hoops' or 'penalising existing customers'. One rule for one supplier and one for another, if it suits, eh?.
DF discounts are only relevant to those actually needing Dual Fuel. There may be many reasons why that is not possible/desired, such as oil heating, all electric, etc..
if you were in fact a gas only uer I could at least understand what you were trying to say, but you aren't and yes there are many people who are eectricity users only and except in extremely unusual cases they would also be better off not being a UW customer.
it comes accross that you are creating an argument just for the sake of it, I doubt you are as asinine as you are trying to appear,0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »Here's the proof for UW Gas only (already said Electric isn't competitive)
http://www.ukpower.co.uk/home_energy/compare/gas/2QGQWWTU
So for your postcode, using your consumption, Gas and electricity would cost £618 with UW.
The cheapest dual fuel is SP on-line 9 which costs £472.
So UW is £146 more expensive or 30.93% more expensive.
If you decided to have only UW gas(because it is not hugely more expensive when you don't take electricity) and took the cheapest electricity tariff from another company(NPower for your low consumption)
The total would be £555.
That is £83 more than the cheapest dual fuel tariff or 17.58% more expensive.
So to get UW gas(why?) even on your low consumption, you are going to have to pay 30.93% or 17.58% (£146 or £83) more than the cheapest tariff.
Even given your desperation to find some redeeming features about UW, I simply cannot see the purpose of raising this issue. You have simply demonstrated just how silly it is to get gas and electricity from UW. - but thank you for doing so!!!!0 -
uptomyeyeballs wrote: »I don't do it to find redeeming features of UW, I do it simply to prove you wrong. I've told you before, I take my gas/electric from elsewhere.
PS. No accusations of being an employee. How refreshing !!
Well if you have spent all these posts attempting to prove me wrong - you have failed spectacularly.
Everything I have said is correct!
You are still paying 30.93% more to take gas and electricity from UW than the cheapest tariff.
You said you had no connection with UW at all - not a customer etc, it was only when you let slip that you have a card, you them admitted you were a UW customer.
So of course I think you are a UW salesman.
P.S. You have posted hundreds of times on this thread purely in an unsuccessful attempt to prove me wrong - and you think I am obsessive?0
