If you and hum share a superior, I would have a quiet word and mention your concerns and unsuitabilty, just incase it comes to bit you on the future, or he starts acting up.

We don't share superiors and if he was to work in my department he would have to report to me.
As for talking about my concerns with my superior that will not be happening as I don't see the need to discuss a simple case of someone overstepping the mark something to bother him with.

If the manager does act up then so be it, I'm not bothered if he wants to conduct himself in an immature childish way that is his problem.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

Creating this thread is equally an immature and childish way of handling the situation. Simply report this manager and be prepared to be dismissed should the higher ups take his side.

I was also informed today that the incorrect closing date was advertised as 23.03.12 and not 16.03.12 so that means she applied in time.

I requested a closing date of 16.03.12 and have the paperwork to prove this so it looks like someone amended it.

Technically you have papers to prove you requested a sooner closing date. It doesn't prove your request was approved.

And on what grounds would I be dismissed?

Oh really tell that to the HR senior that signed the paperwork off herself.

how long have you been there

I would be a little concerned that you don't understand how this guy has done what they seem to have achieved, multiple relatives employed.

Don't you watch the signs of what is happening in the business beyond your own group, is there a history of people coming and going elsewhere, any friday pub talk(you do go sometimes)

There is not playing politics but potentialy blatently ignoring the underlying power hierachy and how it works is a little negligent to your own position.

This person was obviously not apppropriate for the job but.

Were the others, do they perform, if not are they still keeeping their jobs.
do these people have good record at least establish the extent of penitration into the HR it might go beyond,

maybe start subtle with the dates find out where the change was made before going in guns blazing.

You never know(but then why would you) they could be after the guy and you have the ammo

    Rubbish.

There is nothing immature about posting this thread and asking for peoples views on the situation. Thats how you work out the best course of action - by listening to other peoples views and ideas. You're the one being immature for slating the op.

The op seems to think they are secure against this manager so we can only take their word for it. We don't know what company it is and for all we know the CEO could be the ops dad or something. No way of knowing but the op seems secure so there is no point trying to suggest they'll get the sack.

I've found this a very interesting topic to be honest, it's not often you get to see a managers insight into their job and how other managers can try to bully others.

It's immature to ask for outsiders opinions when they only have one side of the story, and the OP is obviously slating his/her manager.

Then maybe you should put your side of the story? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

A reason can easily be made up y'know. When an employer wants to sack someone, it's easily done providing they go through the dismissal process.
