Hi, had a lovely day with friends and only spent £15 between me and hubby, so not too bad:) Also on a non money note really enjoyed seeing my friend and her hubby, along with the new addition. Looked it up and my little one weighed 11lb by 3 and a half weeks old, my friends baby is 10 weeks, goodness, my baby was huge:)0

120,000 / 5000 = Each brick costs £24
120,000 - 105,000 = So far i've paid off £15,000
£15,000 / £24 = i own 625 bricks
(625/5000)x100 = i own 12.5%
As my house has 8 rooms (stairs anad landing count as 1)
i own 1 room of my house:)
I like this idea:)
Felling quite positive today, i have photographed all my new items for ebay, haven't done the descriptions yet but i will then i'll be all ready for the next free listing weekend. Off to see a friend this afternoon and maybe go for a walk if it's not raining, then have to go and buy loo roll, i've left it as long as possible but really need it now. So won't be a NSD todayOn a plus note i get paid next week and we still have money in the bank even though we have OP'd, saved some in the ISA, and been out for a couple of meals:) The obsessive part of me keeps thinking 'if we didn't eat out/have any fun...' but you have to have some time off from money saving or what are you working for eh? Oooh, and hopefully have managed to bag a free lightweight buggy from freegle, for the holiday in September that we won!

It really is, if my hubby didn't force me to do it i would just work and save, but he makes us go out to eat occasionally and spend some of that hard earned cash on fun as well as the mortgage:)0

Morning all. Well today i'm making the most of the little one being asleep for a nap and grabbing a shower, then i'm off to pick up some stuff from freecycle, then dropping baby off at my mums so i can get some jobs done this afternoon and also try and have a rest too:) Big food shop tomorrow so think i'll try and get a menu together today whilst baby is out of the way. Also try and get the kitchen cupboardfs cleaned i think.
Right time for a list:)
Empty food cupbards and clean and reline
Menu for upcomiong week
Shopping list
Hoover lounge
Do washing
That's enugh i think
Spelling is bad but too tired to go back and amend:)0 -
Right, well scrap yesterdays post as none of it happened, well rather the freecycling bit hapened but about 8 hours after i thought it would. I did get the food shopping done, i spent about £20 so not bad at all, and have done a menu for the week so hoping to be able to stick to it and not spend too much else this week. I think we will need to get some bread maybe but that should be all, so a cheap week i hope.
So today i'm hoping my little one will go to nanna today for a few hours so i can get some dirty jobs done adn maybe a bit of gardening. Also got to sort the car boot stuff for tomorrow, but only going to do it if it's nice, last time it rained so hard that i got soaked to the skin and hardly any body showed up to buy or sell so it was a waste of time, and at £12 a pitch it's a lot to pay out if you don't make a decent profit.
Still waiting on Paypal to get into the bank which is a bit annoying, don't want to pay it out on the OP until i have it in my hand:) But hoping that i can add a bit more after the car boot. Already got some extra beause the council tax didn't need paying this month, plus the ebay and insurance payout so if i can make about another £50 tomorrow then i can do and OP of £200 before the end of the month:)0 -
Morning, well didn't do car boot in the end as my mum wasn't well:( I am glad that all the jobs from the above list are now done though, and today i'm planning on giving the bathroom a good going over. Oooh, had my first lot of cashback on the cc and current ac, a whole £4, but i guess over the year, £4 a month = £48 a year, so aiming for that. I think what i might do is transfer the cashback money into a little saving ac each month, so i can see it growing, then pay it off once a year, for the sake of a couple of pounds a month i think it would be nicer to do it as a lump sum so i know where the money has gone.
I'm guessing that my paypal money should come through tomorrow, so then i can draw it out and do the OP tomorrow. Getting really fed up of top cashback, i've got over £60 now that should have been payed by the end of March and it's still not payable:(
Oh well, off to do some cleaning and maybe the hoovering too:)0 -
Had some cashback through from the current ac and cc so adding that on, totaling £151.30 now. Going to write the cheque before going to town, then pay it off:) not waiting til the end of the months as miss out on interest going off that way don't i.
Updating sig now:)0 -
Yes if you're paying Daily Interest then you probably would be better paying in now rather than waiting (even if it is relatively small amount
) I've started doing the same.
Not read your whole thread - but out of interest, do you know how much daily interest you pay? I think seeing that figure is the biggest motivator to OP'ing and OP'ing quickly!0 -
Oh, yes Curly girl, at the moment it's about £11 a day, so the quicker it's gone the better:)
Been and paid it off:) makes you feel so good to know that you are going to pay it off sooner rather than later. Off to update Spiggle and my spreadsheet.0 -

Plus it keeps you motivated. I'm in the '10 days to payday' mode and although I've just sold a few things on ebay I need to leave the money in paypal as I have some big (for me
) ebay fees to pay. Grrr!
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
