Thanks, that does make sense.
How far back are they able to go?0 -
I think 6 years but i've only worked at my company since 2008 so i'm only claiming back to then.
I have finally accessed the AA ISA so i'm happy about that and in terms of becoming MF i haven't done much else:(
I am at the strart of a new financial week for me tomorrow as i get paid on Thursdays:)0 -
NSD today:) nearly bought a chocolate bar today as little one was driving me insane but i resisted and she fell asleep in the buggy on the way to the sweet shop:)
Ooh, had a meeting today with an independent financial advisor, not for me, for my friend, but trying to help her understand her finances more. And as he was asking her questions and she was answering them lots of yes's (for debts) and no's (for saving and insurance policies) it made me realise just how well me and hubby are doing:) All in all a good day finances wise.
£20 of boots vouchers arrived in the post today, from surveys, so that's the next 2 tubs of formula paid for. Loving being in control.

Evening all. Well not a NSD but everything i bought was orange stickered and i got another 20% off as it's double discount day at co-op for employees. So dinner is sorted. Hubby is just putting little one to bed so hopefully we'll get a better nights sleep than last night;)0

Woop Woop! £18.01 of interest went into our saving account, even though the account is now empty! Adding it the the OP for April, plus the money from ebay. Annoyed as one of my buyers hasn't paid yet and it's been a week now since the auction finished. How long am i supposed to leave it before i relist the item for sale again?
So so far in the OP for April there is the regular £100 that has gone already and there is £18.01 interest, then £17 back from an insurance policy plus £19.87 in the ebay pot, so in total we have an extra £54.88 so far.
Added to that should be another 19.99 from ebay if the buyer ever pays, and i have also relisted a couple of things which didn't sell before.0 -
I didn't pay any insertion fees as was a free listing weekend, the item sold for the starting bid so i can either not sell it, sell for the same or more. I am giving them until after the holidays then if they've still not paid i'll open a case. Wish people would just be nice. All their feedback was good with everyone else commenting on how fast they paid, at first thought i'd done something wrong but then my other two bidders paid and left feedback after they received the items and i did all 3 transactions the same way so must be them not me. Thanks for the reply anyway:)0

Hiya all, i've opened a case against the buyer. I don't get why you would bother bidding and then not pay. They have lots of positive feedback so seems a little odd. MF wise i've not done masses more but have sold a cot mobile to a friend for £5 so that'll go into the pot when i receive it. Other than that, not much going on here, i've done a menu for this week as had loads of food to use up from the last big shop. Tonight we had lasagne made with loads of bits of veg left in the fridge, there's enough for two more portions to go in the freezer too. Also this week there is vegetable risotto on the menu, chilli and jackets, spag bol, lentil bean and sausage casserole. Hopefully shouldn't need to do any more food shopping this week and should be able to cobble together some meals for next week out of this weeks budget:) there's definately enough lasagne for another night, probably enough chilli too, then i think i could do a kids tea without shopping, so hope to be able to put off spending any more money until next Sunday.
Starting to realise how long a road we are on. We first took our mortgage in 2006, and OP'd for the last couple of years, then had to switch mortgages at the end of the fixed rate deal, which was 5 years in. So we started another mortgage but kept the term at 25 years, so it just feels a bit like we've been OPing and not got very far.0 -
I am sure the ebay issue will get sorted out soon Ecoelle. It happened to me once, and once the case was opened it was soon paid. I felt quite sorry for the buyer as they got in touch to say that they had lost their job (not exactly uncommon these days
). I told them not to worry I would relist, but they paid in the end anyway, and I sent the item.
You sound very organised in the meal planning department. I am sure the OPs will start to look a bit more significant soon, with all the effort you are making0 -
Grrr, i was owed money from cancelling my virgin account, but never updated my maiden name with them, so they have now sent me a cheque for £5.87 made out to miss ecoelle:(
The council have made a balls up and have not taken the DD of loads of people and are now saying instead of paying the 10 months from April-Jan we are going to pay May-Feb? Good as i 've put aside the money for it this month already so it can go as an extra OP:) but bad as they didn't let people know, i had to go into the council office and ask.
So, the person who was going to buy the cot mobile doesn't want it now, so i can't add that £5 on, but have arranged with my mum to do a car boot next Sunday so hopefully will make a bit of extra money from that too:)
So £90 council tax not paid, plus the £54.88 already in the pot means an extra £144.88 so far, not including any car boot money:)0 -
Morning all, i'm off to meet a new addition to the planet soon, but just thought i'd pop in and say hi. We're going for lunch at Slug and Lettuce but using a 25% off voucher so it won't be too bad:)
See you all later.0
