Then cleaned the oven, don't like doing it when little one is here because of the fumes, then i got the ironing board out, and put the west wing dvd on
I love West Wing too! Just finished series 6 yesterday, about to start series 7 tonight - I'm dreading it when I've got no more to watch.
Also I found an easy way to clean the oven shelves (you know, the annoying metal racks that end up lumpy and brown - at least in my house anyway) - I just put them to soak in the bath with a couple of inches of hot water and some washing up liquid then leave them for an hour or two. I just wipe them with a dishcloth then - lovely and shiny, no black bits in the corners and no horrible brillo pads. Hope you don't mind me mentioning this tip but finding this out made cleaning my oven about 10 times easier. I put an old flat tray in the bottom to keep that clean - I just take it out and wash it occasionally so all that's left is wiping the door.

Well i managed to get into town in time to hit the bank with hubby's cheques.Once from the pet insurance company, and one from the inland rev. As the one from the pet's was only small i decided to add the two together and make one more overpayment for March:) So the £141.56 plus the £250.92 means a total OP for March of £392.48:)0

Right, well had a great day today. Hubby was off so he took little one off into town leaving me at home to get some cleaning done uninterupted. I managed to do the stairs which have been driving me crazy as our two white cats seem to do nothing but moult and it appears to like to gather on the stairs as they chase up and down. Then hoovered through the lounge and did the sofas, pulled the cushions off and everything! Then cleaned the loo, bath and sink and swept the bathroom and kitchen. Also did the usual wipe round and washing up. All of this was followed with an 2 episodes of the West Wing, it was supposed to be one episode but it was the last one of series one and anyone who has seen it knows when you own the boxset you need to watch the next episode asap!
I then had a nap, i love a good nap, a say nap, i mean 3 hour sleep! I am currently undergoing some investigations at the hospital to see if my need for sleep is part of a genetic condition which exists in my family, of course i could just be lazy:)
Well, money saving wise little done today, i did get hubby to buy some padded envelopes and brown paper from the pound shop, which i guess is money making in a way as i am using it to wrap my ebay items which has made us money so i'm not counting that as a bad thing.
I also completed another review on dooyoo and so am hoping if i can keep that up with my maximiles and surveys i can keep the occasional voucher coming in. It all helps i guess:)
I'm very excited this week as i have a lot of friends who are teachers and so they are all off work and wanting to see me and little one, this means i have a ready supply of babysitters and others to hand said baby to. Lovely:) Also my sister who is also undergoing some genetic testing is heading to town to be seen at the hospital and it will be a lovely chance to see her for a few days as she lives miles away.
Other than this nothing to report so i'm going to stay logged in and have a little bimble around to see what's going on in the wider world:)0 -
Oooh i forgot. I printed and posted letters to HMRC regarding mine and my hubby's uniform. He worked at one company from 2004-2007 when he got made redundant, then at another place from 2008-now, so i'm claiming for 06/07,07/08,08/09,09/10,10/11,11/12 as i think you can only claim for the last 6 years, then i'm claiming for myself for 08/09,09/10,10/11,11/12. Hopefully we should get some money back. As i rang them they have already increased my tax free allowance for this year:)0

It's funny how much it's possible to accomplish when the little one is out of the way

I don't quite understand the whole uniform/HMRC thing. Could you explain what this is about please?0
-
I have to wear a uniform for work with the company logo on it and so does my husband. I was told that i could claim money for laundering the uniform as my company provides no washing facilities on site and i can't wear the clothes anywhere but work as they are embroidered with the company logo. So i have sent them a letter from each of us claiming for a rebate of costs for the above years. The lady i spoke to on the phone said that both me and my husband should be entitled to money back for anything up to 6 years ago. Also they have changed my tax code for the 12/13 year to include 60 tax free pounds:)
If you have a uniform which is embroided with the company logo and you are expected to wash it yourself at home then you could be entitled to money back from previous years. I rang them on 08453000627 and said to the lady that i was interested in whether i was entitled to claim money back because i wear a uniform, she knew exactly what i was talking about and told me what to put in the letter.
Hope that helps:)
And yes Weronika it is amazing how much i can now get done in a few hours when before i had baby it would have taken me much longer.0
