I just checked my top carefully and actually it has trees flowers cats little wolves and red riding hoods - probably not making it sound any better!:rotfl:

At the weekend I bought my son an immaculate Land's End body warmer, sorry, gilet (!) for £3 - it is filled with down so will keep him toasty warm. I just looked on their website and they are £40 new!:)

On another note, I've just had a gift aid statement through from my local charity shop showing how much my donations have raised lately. On the letter is says you can choose not to donate the money raised and claim it back if you wish, although of course the charity is left with nothing. Does anyone know if anybody has actually had the nerve to do that?

If anyone claims it back from our charity they are taken off the scheme for any future donations.
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

I work in a charity shop and yes some of them do claim back the money. Not many though or the charity shops would go out of business. Even charity shops are struggling now.

Thanks for the replies - I was curious to know the answer and sadly got the answer I suspected. :(

Oh wow. That's gorgeous. My best handbag find was a couple of years ago - a Tula bag for £2.99.
    Normal people worry me.

Went round 6 CS's today and all I bought was a big 10" (and better quality than my previous charity shop one) embroidery hoop for £1.50.
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.

I managed to get out of Scope and Sense totally empty handed today despite trying on quite a few garments.

Usually know pretty much what suits me but tried on several lovely cable knit cowl necked jumpers today and they do not.

Was nearly tempted by a Primark (Atmosphere) top with a pretty print of birds and flowers but decided the style was not quite me and a nice pair of jeans but decided they were a tad too short as I like them to be practically on the floor.

  • I got a couple of beautiful Sophie Conran for Portmeirion teacups and saucers yesterday, £2.25 for two cups and saucers. Sadly the pattern has been discontinued, I like it so much that I might have tried to make up a set by buying a piece or two on special occasions.
  • Found a Parker fountain pen (packet unopened) for £2.99
and a brand new fondue set for £4.99. We can either use the fondue set as it is or take out the part that burnt out on our old one. Haven't found such practical items for a while. :)
  • Well not CS, but did get a genuine dolce & gabana coat for £40 and a pair of new rocks rrp £175 (just checked!) also for £40. This was at a Bike Rally in Somerset. Really pleased as been after the boots for ages but could not justify full price :)
