I've been reading this thread for a while now and love hearing about all your great bargains and finds. I'm getting hooked on shopping in charity shops, I love the fact that I can get good quality clothing (that I would never beable afford at full price) for a fraction of the cost and that the money is going to good causes.
  • Lovely unusual candle lantern, candle fits in stem with just top and wick showing and as it burns down the candle is pushed up, a nice way to have a candle on all evening without having to change it yet no big candle on show for £4.50, stands 15in high and base and stem solid brass and nice big glass shade.

I've been searching for a particular book in the last fortnight - managed to find it for £1.95 in the 6th CS that I looked in that day. Not the cheapest paperback, but the best bargain of the day for me - I've never pounced so quickly :D

almost forgot, I got 2 extra-long, towelling bathmats for 95p each

The biography of Warren Buffett (3 inch thick hardback, as new) which I've been meaning to read for ages for 50p and one of those clever, professional corkscrews where you put the bottle in the bottom, jiggle the lever a couple of times and the cork pops out - no more broken corks for only £2.95

If you want to feel even better about your bargain, just have a look here at how much your items are selling for on a chinamatch website.
