Have you heard of a Travalo?
Great for little handbags and taking your favourite perfume on holiday.
Now......
I am fully aware that I really do not need any more coats.
So why have I bought a Per Una purpley 2-tone coat?
Because I have the same coat in olive green (also from a charity shop) and have worn it such a lot.
It can be dressed up or down, it has a hood with a silky lining that can be zipped off and it says 'water repellent'.
It was £5.00 from our hospice shop.
I have to sneak it out of my shopping trolley (it's currently hidden under carrots, sprouts, cabbages, cauli, potatoes and leek), into the washing machine, get it dry and in my wardrobe.
And be ready to say to my OH when he says 'Is that new?'
'What? This? I've had it for ages'. :rotfl:0 -
Probably get more by selling on ebay.
There's currently one at £8.50 with 5 bids and 6 days left to go so there is a market for them.
Always seems to be a few bracelets (and charms) in the windows of various Cash Converter-style shops.
I do wear a lot of silver, Pandora is not my cup of tea but I can understand the sentimentality of the charms to the people who do like them.
dolly84 - would have loved your hot pink Seasalt sweatshirt.
I have two Pandora bracelets, a leather one and a metal one, the metal one is currently in Cash Converters (please no-one judge me for this, things were terribly difficult at the end of last month and it was a last gasp measure) bear in mind the bracelet is full- I got £82 for it which I was actually quite surprised at.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
Years ago I had to go to hospital for a couple of days and told DH there was curry in a brown earthern wear pot that just needed to be warmed up.
When I got home I was looking for the pot and could not find it anywhere. My Dad was visiting while I was looking and muttering and seemed a bit embarassed so I asked him if he had any ideas.
He eventually admitted that DH had put the pot on the gas hob- there was a loud crack and it broke - curry all over the cooker etc. They had cleaned up the mess and binned the pot. I would not have been so exasperated if DH had not been a chartered engineer with qualifications in physics etc so should have known better."This site is addictive!"

Pollycat - I will keep my eye out in the CS's for a hook, I don't buy direct from China to me it's bad enough that they make everything for our retailers without cutting out the middleman too.
I too have had to smuggle things in past DH.

Just Googled Travalo as I had never heard of them......can't work out how the perfume gets from the bottle into the thingamajig??
Bloomin' M & S! They sent me an email for the sale preview with 50% off. I appear to have bought a dress!! From a proper shop! How did that happen??:eek:0 -

Remove the spray bit from your perfume bottle (it only works on bottles that have a spray).
Put the Travalo on top of the exposed pipe (nozzle?) on your perfume bottle and pump up and down to fill.
My Travalos have a see-through window so you can see how full they are.
And that's it.

In all the years of using them, I've never had a leak.
But I've only ever bought 'proper' Travalo ones. I've read some bad reviews about cheap ones.Bloomin' M & S! They sent me an email for the sale preview with 50% off. I appear to have bought a dress!! From a proper shop! How did that happen??
Chance would be a fine thing!
I saw a post on the Grabbit board but I don't have 5000 points.
I don't even have a Sparks card! :rotfl:

Thanks for the video Pollycat...seems straightforwardish...will keep a lookout for one in the chazzas from now on! The words that 'sold' the dress to me were, midi/teal/3/4 sleeves/jersey fabric, (think I've turned into my grandmother! :rotfl:)
Okey dokey....as I don't celebrate Christmas I will be observing radio/TV/interwebby silence for the next few days so may I take this opportunity to wish all on this thread all that they wish for themselves.....and see you on the other side0 -

Just don't do what my friend did, she pressed the spray top on her perfume back too hard and as the hole was facing her got a mouthful of Estee Lauder.
Charity shops are a good bet as - like handbag hooks - people who are given them as gifts aren't sure what they are so donate them.Okey dokey....as I don't celebrate Christmas I will be observing radio/TV/interwebby silence for the next few days so may I take this opportunity to wish all on this thread all that they wish for themselves.....and see you on the other side0
